Seraphina Sullivan swiftly glanced over the two items she had looted from Quentin Lewis.
An antique, blank book with a cover made of some unknown leather, warm to the touch and completely devoid of writing.
And a dagger that looked unremarkable, even a bit plain.
As was her habit, Seraphina Sullivan activated Item Identification.
[Food God’s Gourmet Atlas] (Unbound)
[Effect One: Food Appreciation: Can be used to appraise any animal, plant, or special substance to determine if it possesses the "edible" trait.]
[Effect Two: Gourmet Recipe: When specific ingredients are provided, it can automatically generate one or more special recipes detailing the cooking steps and required additional ingredients.]
[Effect Three: ?? (Locked, unlock conditions unknown)]
[Sharp Dagger]
[Effect: Possesses the "Sharpness" trait. Its cutting ability far exceeds that of a normal dagger.]
Of the two items, the dagger, while practical, didn’t draw much of Seraphina Sullivan’s attention.
Seraphina Sullivan tossed the Sharp Dagger directly to Sean Chandler.
Instead, it was the blank book titled [Food God’s Gourmet Atlas] that deeply piqued Seraphina Sullivan’s interest.
It was, after all, the first time she had encountered an unbound item.
"Food God’s Gourmet Atlas?"
Seraphina Sullivan murmured the name under her breath, a flash of surprise in her eyes.
"Not only can it tell you if something’s edible, but it can give you recipes, too?"
The style of this book was a stark contrast to the combat and survival-oriented items she had acquired before; it was more like an auxiliary tool for a life-skill Profession.
But what truly intrigued Seraphina Sullivan was the book’s name.
’God of Cuisine? In this game world filled with doomsday and death... do so-called "Gods" really exist?’
The thought struck Seraphina Sullivan as both absurd and strangely plausible.
’Perhaps the Doomsday Game itself is just a pastime for the gods.’
’After all, if not a Divine being, who could have the power to create such a game?’
Out of curiosity, Seraphina Sullivan picked up the atlas, aimed it at a relatively intact Night Demon Moth corpse nearby, and tried to activate the [Food Appreciation] Ability.
At first, however, Seraphina Sullivan’s attempt failed.
She soon realized that the Food God’s Gourmet Atlas had to be bound to her before she could use it.
’Bind it?’
A drop of blood.
The thought surfaced instantly.
Seraphina Sullivan quickly formed a Silver Needle, pricked her hand, and let a drop of blood fall onto the blank book.
[Binding Successful]
A message appeared in her mind.
After binding it, Seraphina Sullivan found that she could freely summon the Food God’s Gourmet Atlas to her side or conceal it at will.
Unless she died, the book could not be lost.
’How magical. This Food Atlas is completely different from my other items.’
Then, Seraphina Sullivan tried using it on the Night Demon Moth again.
On the blank pages, as if written by an invisible pen, a line of clear script rapidly appeared:
[Ingredient: Night Demon Moth]
[Edibility: Edible]
Unlike the detailed biological data, Skills, and Weaknesses provided by the [Eye of Resume]...
...the information provided by [Food Appreciation] was extremely concise, consisting only of the species name and a simple "yes" or "no" judgment.
However, that simple, single word—"Edible"—left Seraphina Sullivan stunned.
"This horrifying-looking moth, whose scale powder can cause Illusions... is actually edible?!"
Seraphina Sullivan could hardly imagine what kind of shockingly grotesque dish would result from cooking this thing.
Driven by curiosity, she used the second Ability on the Night Demon Moth’s corpse.
