"A grand birthday banquet is being held for the esteemed Princess of the Peach Kingdom! No unauthorized entry!"
The frog guard on the left puffed out its cheeks and said sternly.
But its strange voice, combined with its comical appearance, greatly diminished any sense of authority.
Lamb seemed to have expected this.
He wasn’t flustered at all. Instead, he lifted his chin slightly.
He wore an expression that screamed, ’You blind fools.’
"Hey! Look closely! Do you know who I am?
I am the chief clothing designer, personally invited by His Majesty the King to design the Princess’s banquet gown!
Are you blocking me because you want the Princess to wear last year’s old dress to the banquet?
If you cause a delay in the Princess’s important affairs, can you bear the consequences?"
His tone was exaggerated, tinged with an artist’s arrogance, and he spoke with such conviction.
The two frog guards were clearly intimidated by his bluff.
Their bulging eyes glanced at each other, as if exchanging some silent message.
The guard on the right asked hesitantly, "Are... are you all here... for the banquet’s professional assessment?"
’Professional assessment?’
A thought struck Seraphina Sullivan and the others.
’This is a perfect fit for the first mission: to become a worker at the banquet.’
Lamb immediately nodded and shot a meaningful glance back at Seraphina Sullivan and the others.
Although no one knew what this sheep was up to, with a mission on the line, they had no choice but to play along.
Seraphina Sullivan, Vincent Vaughn, Clayton Quinn, Ironhide, and Joy Hughes all nodded in affirmation.
Seeing this, the two frog guards seemed to breathe a sigh of relief and retracted their Ice Sugar Spears.
"Alright, since you’re prospective employees here for the assessment, follow us."
The guard on the left said in a deep, muffled voice, turning to gesture for the group to follow.
"Remember, you must follow the rules in the castle. No running around, and absolutely no sneaking any food!"
It shot a pointed, warning glare at the group.
And so, led by these two bizarrely styled frog guards,
the group stepped onto the brilliant rainbow path of light.
The path had a perfect firmness when stepped on, giving the marvelous sensation of walking on Jell-O, yet it was exceptionally stable.
They passed through a massive castle gate made of chocolate bars and Sugar Frosting arches.
They had officially entered the fantastical dessert castle.
The interior was even more lavish than it appeared from the outside. The walls were made of marbled candy in various colors.
The floor resembled smooth toffee, and the air was filled with an even richer and more complex sweet fragrance.
In the distance, they could faintly hear the clearer sounds of cheerful music and bustling footsteps.
They were led to a relatively quiet, spacious, yet still luxuriously decorated hall in the castle’s wing.
"You all wait here. I’m going to report to Madame Spider.
She’s the supervisor in charge of assessing all the banquet employees."
After speaking, one of the frog guards hopped away.
Before long, a faint but peculiar sound reached them—a mixture of rustling silk and the tapping of something hard against the floor.
The group looked toward the sound and saw, emerging slowly from behind an ornate doorway on the other side of the hall, an... even more bizarre "existence."
It was a woman with a lovely face—one might even call it beautiful.
She had a mature charm, and her silver-white hair was impeccably styled.
An amethyst-studded hair ornament was pinned in her hair.
