Dr. Ford raised his binoculars, his hands trembling slightly with excitement. "It’s an Armored Stegosaurus! A large monster.
"It may not be a catastrophe-class monster, but it’s still extremely dangerous!
"Its hide is incredibly tough. Conventional weapons can hardly penetrate it!
"It couldn’t be more perfect for testing the poison!"
Sharon Lynn hid behind the adults, only daring to sneak a peek before shrinking back, intimidated by the sheer presence of the massive beast.
"We’ve found a monster, but..."
Dr. Ford lowered his binoculars, his brow furrowed. The practical problem lay before them.
"How do we get close to it? And how do we get it to ingest these poisons?
"It must be highly alert, and if we startle it, the consequences will be unthinkable."
Chet Lucius, however, seemed to have a plan already. "We can wait for it to rest," he said calmly, "then approach it quietly and look for an opportunity."
Hearing this, Dr. Ford couldn’t help but shake his head with a wry smile, thinking the young man was being far too idealistic.
"Lucius, you’re making it sound too simple.
"A monster of this size has extremely sharp senses, even while resting. With so many of us, we’ll be easily discovered.
"Besides, even if it is asleep, how are we supposed to pour the poison down its throat?
"How large of a dose and what kind of container would that even require?"
Seraphina Sullivan, however, didn’t immediately dismiss Chet Lucius. She looked at him and saw the steady look in his eyes; he clearly wasn’t joking.
She immediately realized that for him to say such a thing, he must have something to back it up—most likely a special Ability or item.
Sure enough, Chet Lucius gave Seraphina Sullivan and Flora Sullivan a subtle look, signaling for them to play along.
Seraphina understood at once. She immediately turned and said to Dr. Ford and Sharon Lynn, "Dr. Ford, Sharon, let’s head behind those ruins over there and bring back some usable metal plates or containers. Maybe we can figure out a way to build a simple delivery device.
"Chet Lucius, you stay here and keep an eye on the monster’s movements. Be careful."
Although Dr. Ford felt it was a long shot, he couldn’t very well object when Seraphina Sullivan had already sprung into action. So he took Sharon Lynn and followed Seraphina and Flora toward the ruins of a relatively intact factory building not far away.
Once they disappeared around a corner of the ruins, Chet Lucius’s gaze returned to the "Armored Stegosaurus" strolling leisurely in the distance.
He took a deep breath, slowly raising his hands and crossing them in front of his chest, palms facing each other.
An invisible, indescribable wave of Energy began to gather around him.
This wasn’t the aggressive, frenzied Energy of an attack, but one that carried a profound, tranquil, and strange rhythm, as if capable of calming all creation.
Deep within his eyes, a faint golden pattern flashed and disappeared.
Skill activated—[Hypnotic Aura]!
A halo, almost invisible to the naked eye and resembling a pale golden ripple, spread out from Chet Lucius—silently, yet with incredible speed!
The halo swept through the air, across the ground, and over the ruins... finally, it precisely enveloped the massive "Armored Stegosaurus" hundreds of meters away.
The Stegosaurus monster, which had been slowly chewing on some sort of plant, abruptly froze.
It seemed to sense something. Its massive head lifted blankly and shook once, a trace of confusion flickering in its crimson eyes.
But in the next moment, an irresistible, tide-like wave of deep drowsiness swept over its massive body and relatively simple brain without warning.
The drowsiness was so peaceful and comfortable, like a return to some primordial tranquility, that the beast had no will to resist it.
Its eyelids grew as heavy as mountains, and its consciousness rapidly faded.
"BOOM—!!!"

In the distance, Dr. Ford and Sharon Lynn, who were just emerging from the ruins carrying a broken metal plate, were startled by the sudden crash and tremor. They looked blankly in the direction of the sound.
