Connor Webb reveled in the feeling of being the center of attention.
"Easy now, easy," he said, slowly waving his hand to quiet the crowd. He then pulled three items from his clothes and placed them on his stall, one by one.
The first item was a dark gold card, about the size of his palm. Its surface was engraved with intricate patterns, and it faintly emanated the Aura of spatial fluctuations.
The second was a chain, pitch-black all over. It was impossible to tell what it was made of, but each link was inscribed with distorted runes, giving it an indescribably eerie feeling.
The third was a hoe.
A perfectly ordinary hoe, with a wooden handle and an iron head. It looked no different from a pre-apocalypse farming tool.
But upon closer inspection, one would notice a faint golden glow on the hoe’s blade, suggesting it wasn’t ordinary iron.
As the three items were laid out, a wave of gasps and exclamations rippled through the crowd.
"That’s our Connor! You can tell that card isn’t some common item just by looking at it!"
"That chain... What kind of item is it?"
"A hoe? What’s a hoe for? Connor, you’re not planning to go farming, are you?"
Connor Webb simply smiled without a word, patting his belly smugly and letting the crowd speculate.
From a distance, Seraphina Sullivan, holding her black cat, unhurriedly drew a few steps closer. Standing at the edge of the crowd and using the people in front of her for cover, she activated her [Analysis Glasses].
Item Identification initiated.
Information on the three items appeared in her vision, one after another.
[Item: Teleportation Card]
[Effect: Upon use, teleports the user and up to five people within a three-meter radius to a random safe zone in the current instance world (relative safety, not absolute). The destination is uncontrollable, with a certain probability of landing in a dangerous area.]
[Note: A Divine Artifact for escaping and saving your life, but also a great tool for screwing over your teammates. Use with caution.]
[Item: Enslavement Chain]
[Effect: When used on a creature of a Level not higher than one’s own, it can apply Binding and forcibly establish a "Master-Servant Contract."
The one bound by the chain will completely obey the holder’s commands. The duration is related to the difference in spiritual power between the two parties.
The greater the difference, the longer the Control time.]
[Note: An evil item. Use with caution. If the controlled target’s spiritual power surpasses the user’s, they may have a chance to break free and retaliate.]
[Item: Harvesting Hoe]
[Effect: When used for farming, it significantly increases crop growth speed and slightly boosts crop yield. It is also effective on mutated plants.]
[Note: A Divine Artifact for the apocalypse farming enthusiast. With this, mommy will never have to worry about me going hungry again.]
After reading everything, Seraphina made a silent assessment:
’The Teleportation Card—useless.’
’Random teleportation is too unreliable. If I end up in a monster’s mouth, it’d be worse than not using it at all.’
’The Enslavement Chain—it’s similar to my [Spirit Mutation Spider Silk], but more domineering and also more dangerous.’
’The target getting a chance to retaliate is too great a risk.’
’But the Harvesting Hoe... now that’s a good item.’
’A truly good item.’
’What’s most precious in the apocalypse?’
’Weapons? Items? Skills? None of them.’
’It’s food, of course.’
With this hoe, farming efficiency would triple, and yields would increase by twenty percent.
This meant that with the same amount of manpower and resources, they could feed far more people.
Any settlement of significant size would treat this thing as a strategic resource.
For Connor Webb to put something like this up for sale, he either didn’t recognize its value or had some other plan in mind.
In the crowd, people had already started asking for prices.
"Connor, how much for the card?"
"The chain! I want the chain! Name your price!"
"That hoe... the hoe looks the most ordinary. Connor, how about you sell it to me for cheap?"
Connor Webb laughed and waved his hand. "Not so fast, not so fast. Good things come to those who wait."
His gaze swept over the crowd as if he were searching for something.
