Seeing the Flora that Seraphina Sullivan had summoned, everyone had a different reaction.
Cheryl Chase’s jaw dropped in astonishment. "It—it’s actually listening to you?"
"It’s not about listening to me, it’s a partnership," Seraphina Sullivan said, gently stroking Flora’s vine. "I provide it with food and safety, and it fights for me. These mutated plants are much smarter than you think. They know how to weigh the pros and cons."
Caleb Chase’s brow furrowed, his eyes glinting with a mix of complex emotions.
He stared at the docile mutated plant, his mind reeling. ’Plants fighting insects? Is that really possible?’
If this method actually worked... maybe humanity could really turn the tide against this desperate disaster.
Justin Brooks’s gaze, on the other hand, was filled with admiration and confusion.
As a fellow Player, he couldn’t understand how Seraphina Sullivan could navigate this terrifying dungeon with such ease, even managing to tame a dangerous mutated plant.
With his military background, he had always made it his duty to protect others, but now, for the first time, he felt his own powerlessness.
’Maybe... I should learn more from her,’ he resolved to himself.
A glint of greed, however, flashed in Harvey Parker’s eyes.
The young blond man stared at the Decaying Flower, his mind already fantasizing about subjugating a powerful mutated plant of his own, slaughtering everything in his path and ruling over this dungeon.
’If I could get a pet like that...’ He licked his lips, already scheming how he would "ask" Seraphina Sullivan for the method to tame plants after the crisis was over.
’She’s wearing a mask, so I don’t know what she looks like underneath, but maybe I can use my charm and body to attract her. Once she becomes... heheh, won’t all her good stuff be mine?’
No one noticed Harvey Parker’s lewd fantasies. If Seraphina Sullivan had known, she would have slapped him across the face without a second thought.
Meanwhile, the disguised Tina Lewis felt a sharp pang of unease.
She pushed up her glasses, her eyes narrowing slightly behind the lenses.
’Things are getting complicated...’ she mused. ’This female Player isn’t just powerful; she’s also discovered the secret of the mutated plants. I have to leave immediately. Damn it, on this trip into The Insect Frenzy, I’ve only managed to subjugate a few special insects.’
She discreetly began to look for an opportunity to slip away.
Tina Lewis started to move closer to Harvey Parker, a white centipede appearing in her hand from out of nowhere.
Just then, Harvey Parker felt goosebumps break out all over his body.
’What’s going on? Why is my Danger Prediction warning me about danger?’
He didn’t understand.
He looked around but couldn’t see any threat.
Meanwhile, Cheryl Chase was the first to snap out of her shock. "Brother! If we can really control mutated plants, does that mean we can..."
"Don’t get your hopes up just yet," Caleb Chase interrupted his sister, though he couldn’t hide the glimmer of hope in his own eyes.
Still, the Flora that Seraphina Sullivan had summoned was good news for Caleb Chase.
"We’ll need to verify this information. After all, you outsiders are too mysterious, and your abilities might differ. We can’t be sure if controlling plants is your own unique Ability."
Seraphina Sullivan nodded.
"Believe what you want. I’m just giving you a heads-up. Whether you choose to trust it is your problem."
Although Seraphina Sullivan was surviving in the dungeon, she was powerless to help them even if she wanted to. She could only survive in The Insect Frenzy Dungeon for three days.
"I understand."
Caleb Chase was about to thank her.
Suddenly, Harvey Parker let out a blood-curdling scream, instantly drawing everyone’s attention.
He was stomping his feet wildly as if he’d been electrocuted, hopping around and yelling, "I knew I felt something dangerous! Something was trying to sneak up on me!"
Everyone looked over and saw a silvery-white centipede under Harvey Parker’s foot, stomped into a pulp. It couldn’t have been more dead.
Seraphina Sullivan immediately realized that it must have been Harvey Parker’s [Danger Prediction] Talent that had saved his life at the critical moment.
She quickly scanned the strange centipede with her Eye of Resume:
[Name: Marrow-Brain Centipede]
