Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse novel Chapter 4909

Chapter 4909: The Name Of The Game!

Noah watched the smile from THE Living Paradox fade as he looked at him silently for a moment.

The space between spaces seemed to grow heavier as the corrupted proto-matter and Infinite Seals swirling around them both slowed their endless dance. Something had shifted in THE Living Paradox’s expression, a transition from amusement to assessment to something that looked almost like...respect?

Hah!

And then THE Living Paradox raised his hand.

Corrupted paradoxical proto-matter and Infinite Seals flowed around his fingers and body like vibrant snakes, the two substances that should have been opposed now moving in harmony across his illusory form. Blue-gold light mixed with the corruption’s taint in patterns that spoke of forced coexistence, of power being wielded regardless of its origins.

"A worthy and unique choice."

His voice held that profound calmness that seemed to define his existence.

"But I did not fear taking on THE Creature, so why would I fear you?"

He let the corrupted proto-matter and Infinite Seals coil around his arms like serpents.

"Adversity, adversity, adversity. That is the name of the game."

...!

THE Living Paradox began to walk through the space between spaces with movements that held the weight of someone who had contemplated these ideas for eons.

"In Observable Existence, it is all about adversity and hardship. The stress you can put on something and seeing if it cracks or evolves. When it comes to hardship, there are many ideas that THE Primordial Architects especially love to speak on." πŸπ—ΏπžπšŽπš πžπš‹π•Ÿπ¨πšŸπžπ•.π•”π• πš–

His eyes grew distant as if accessing memories that transcended normal recollection.

"Consider what they call THE Final Threshold. When two great voids of authority draw toward each other across the vast distances of existence, each one massive enough to consume realms, they spiral closer and closer with inevitability that seems unstoppable. They shed their excess weight. They distort the weavings around them. They approach merger with momentum that should make their collision certain."

He paused.

"And yet, at the final distance, they stall. One threshold away from true unification, they circle each other endlessly, unable to overcome the last barrier between approach and collision. THE Primordial Architects debate endlessly about what allows some to cross this threshold while others orbit forever in frustrated proximity. What stress, what adversity, what external pressure finally pushes them across that final gap?"

His smile returned, thin and glorious!

"The answer, of course, is that something must change. Something must provide the additional hardship that forces evolution rather than eternal stagnation. Without that final stress, even the most massive authorities remain forever separated by a distance they cannot cross on their own."

He turned to face Noah directly.

"And then there is what they call THE Coherence Struggle. When existence operates at its most fundamental level, at scales where differentiation and undifferentiation blur together, a being can exist in multiple states simultaneously. They can be both here and there, both this and that, holding contradictions within themselves without resolution."

His voice grew softer.

"But the moment they interact with the surrounding chaos of existence, the moment they touch the environment that presses against them from all directions, their capacity for multiplicity dies. They are forced to choose a single state. They are forced to become mundane, defined, collapsed into something lesser than what they were when they existed in glorious uncertainty."

He spread his hands.

"This is the eternal struggle of maintaining paradox against the pressure of existence that demands resolution. This is the adversity that THE Primordial Architects speak of with something approaching reverence. The environment itself is hostile to beings who refuse to be one thing or another. Existence presses and presses and presses until you either evolve beyond the pressure or collapse into something ordinary."

"But my favorite example of adversity comes from something far more personal."

"On a small world that knows nothing about Civilizational Authority or Absoluteness, when all they have is messy innovation and desperate reaching toward things beyond their grasp, their biggest problem to overcome is simply this: the distance between where they are and where they wish to be."

"They have a saying on such worlds. Ad Astra Per Aspera. To the stars through hardships. It acknowledges that reaching beyond what you are requires suffering. It acknowledges that the void between your current existence and your desired existence can only be crossed through enduring pressures that would break lesser beings. It acknowledges that the stars do not come to those who wait. The stars must be reached through pain and failure and loss and the stubborn refusal to accept that some distances cannot be crossed."

"I came from such a world, Osmont. A world where the stars seemed impossibly far and the hardships required to reach them seemed equally impossible to endure. And yet here I stand as THE Information Paradox, attempting a Cause that would place my name alongside others in the whispers of THE Vakochev Scales."

"To the stars through hardships. Ad Astra Per Aspera. That...has always been my creed."
