Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse novel Chapter 5232

Chapter 5232: Oblivion III

The undefinition inside THE Sepulchre was not malicious.

It had no personality, no intent in the way that consciousness had intent. It was simply the absence of definition doing what absence did in the presence of something defined, pressing against the edges of the defined thing with the patient persistence of entropy, looking for the seams where the definition was weakest and working at those seams with the thoroughness of a process that had all the time its containment required.

Noah sat in the nothing and let it press.

He could not feel his scales. He could not feel his crown. He could not feel his tail or his horns or the Bellum rings or the Cognitio rings or the grimoire orbiting his Hadean Pillar in the invisible interior space of his perception. He could not feel the connection to his other bodies. He could not complete a thought.

But he could feel his Cause.

Not loudly. Not with the full blazing resonance it carried in open battle. As a thread, thin enough that the severing of everything else had reduced it to its most fundamental state, thin enough that the undefinition had apparently not identified it as a discrete entity worth addressing specifically because at its most fundamental state it was indistinguishable from the base substrate of what he was rather than from a capability he was deploying.

He focused on the thread.

He thought of his mother.

Concretely, specifically, the actual Amelia Osmont who had lived in an ending world and had produced something with her existence that the entirety of the Gilded civilization across seven ages and Prime Causes and THE Braneworld Observable Existence had never managed to produce despite their eons and their engineering.

Who had originated THE Infinite Cause through the specific accumulation of her specific experiences without anyoneโ€™s permission or administrative oversight. Who had given him something that Vaeltharion and his three integrated Prime Causes and his ancient eyes could not access regardless of their standing.

He thought of himself.

The man in the dirt who had forged his first fireball while the world was ending around him. Every tier of Vakochevโ€™s framework he had pressed against and found yielding. Every moment where the calculation said the outcome was not survivable and he had survived it through the combination of capability and conviction and the specific stubbornness that had never negotiated with outcomes it found unacceptable.

His Cause was Infinite.

He turned this over in the severed quiet of the Sepulchreโ€™s nothing with the patient attention of a being who had found the one structural argument that the containment could not address.

His Cause was Infinite.

THE Sepulchre had been built by three integrated Prime Causes at Silurian Paleozoic depth, backed by the collective authority of a dozen Sororis Primas and nine mass-produced Ragnar bodies, to isolate an existence from everything including its own cause. ๐Ÿ๐—ฟ๐ž๐šŽ๐š ๐ž๐š‹๐•Ÿ๐จ๐šŸ๐ž๐•.๐•”๐• ๐š–

But THE Infinite Cause did not draw its authority from THE Observable Existence or from Infinity as an external resource or from any substrate that a containment built within Observable Existence could sever access to.

THE Infinite Cause drew its authority from emergence itself. From the foundational truth that existence comes into being through pain and that the coming into being was the first and most irreducible fact of any existence that had ever been.

He could not be severed from emergence.

He had already emerged.

The fact of his emergence was prior to every other fact about his current situation, including the fact of the Sepulchre. Before THE Sepulchre, there was Noah Osmont having emerged, and no containment built within the arrangement that emergence had produced could reach backward through time to the moment before the emergence and prevent it.

THE Infinite Cause burned through the thin thread.

HUUM!

The multicolored Infinity his Existence held answered.
