Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse novel Chapter 5389

Chapter 5389: Principium! I

There were many things on Noah’s mind.

There was the matter of quantifying his newly emerged Intent, of understanding the fusion of Infinity and the Primordial Source that had become his Osmontian Source Infinity, all its breadth and its limits and the things it could do that he had not yet thought to try.

There was the enactment of his own Tongue, the tremendous undertaking that waited on his growing familiarity with himself. And there were more things beyond those, a dozen of them, each one of paramount importance in its own right.

But there was also THE Riven to destroy, and the first step toward destroying it was the simplest possible thing.

Talk about it.

There was a reason the thing had made that its First Directive, the silencing, the prohibition on Noah saying a single word about it to anyone. It did not wish to be found yet. It loved moving in the dark, the way every patient buried thing loved the dark, and the dark was where its scattered pieces could wake one by one without anyone knowing to stop them.

So Noah would do the one thing it most did not want. He would drag it into the light. He had already begun, with the gathered Source Lifeforms, with the handful of ashen faces that knew. Now he would carry it upward, to the ones who could actually move against it.

That was the first step. Everything else followed from it!

So as he stood there looking at Dame Seraphine, the next moment arrived.

Tendrils of boundless obsidian light formed above the gathering, descending into crystalline beams that landed on Noah and on Seraphine and on several of the other powers present, wrapping them in their glow. Seraphine met his eyes through the light, and what was in her face had not entirely recovered from the ashen thing his words had put there.

"We..." she said, "have been summoned by THE Domicile of THE Queen Regnant."

...!

With those words, boundlessly pure Primordial Source wrapped around them all, and they vanished from the outer region of THE Hallowed Demesne, drawn inward, toward the deep places of the Sword territory where the Queen Regnant kept her seat and where, until now, Noah had never been invited.

---

While that body traveled toward the heart of THE Source Lands, another of Noah’s bodies turned its attention inward, to THE Infiniverse, to the work of understanding what he had become.

Grasping his Intent was a unique kind of study, because his Intent was himself. He did not have to train it the way one trained a technique, or unlock it the way one unlocked a power. He had to live it.

THE Egoic Intent of THE Quintessential Osmontian deepened the more truly and completely he lived as the things he was, and so the way to understand it was simply to be himself, fully, in each of the identities that made him.

And of all his identities, there was one he loved most.

The farmer.

In the Early Veiled Shore of THE Infiniverse, Noah stood among the plots.

It was a serene place, the kind of serenity he had built on purpose because he was a being who knew exactly how rare serenity was and how much power it took to keep.

"All right," Noah said to her, gently. "Watch. A seed doesn’t become a tree all at once. It happens in steps, and every step matters, and if you understand the steps you understand the whole thing. So let’s go through them."

"First is imbibition," he said. "The seed drinks. It takes in water, or in this case the Pure Primordial Essence around it, and it swells, and the swelling wakes it up. Nothing grows until it drinks first."

"Then the radicle comes. That’s the first root, the very first thing the seed sends out, and it goes down, always down, anchoring the whole future of the plant before anything reaches for the sky. Roots before leaves. The foundation before anything else..."

"Then the plumule," Noah continued, his Egoic Intent moving through the work, his identity poured into every stage.

"That’s the first shoot, the part that reaches up. And the cotyledons, the seed-leaves, the little starter leaves that feed the sprout on what the seed packed away for it, until it can feed itself."
