Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse novel Chapter 5520

Chapter 5520: Buy Time!

The stretched instant held, and within it, Noah finished his thoughts.

They came for THE Infiniverse! And it was under the command of Jarl Erling as it should relate or Observable Existences and causes as how did he know? Did this fucker Ormarr report back so thoroughly after his death?

But apart from this...

Winning was not possible.

Lissana alone exceeded even his fused ceiling. Twenty True Lifeforms stood behind her with more than half at Cenozoic. And beneath all of them walked a being whose existence was the strike, whose ambient field was slowly denying his home the right to exist. Even all of them together, at their peaks, could not win this.

But he did not need to win this.

Because far across the storming dark, a dying Cause filled with hope was still rushing toward him! If his suspicions about what approached held even half their weight...then what he needed was not victory.

What he needed was time!

And buying time from beings who held every advantage required only one currency. Doubt! He had read their Sheets as he knew many of their details.

So THE True Human Emperor decided, within a frozen instant, to become grander than he was.

Anaximander. Creature. Let me handle this for now. I am simply buying us time for now as something should be coming to balance the Scales...maybe.’

The mental messages left him as the instant collapsed, and time resumed!

Ormarr’s gloating laughter was still rolling across the trapped space. Lissana’s declaration still hung like a drawn blade! And Noah, cornered and outweighed beyond everything ...smiled slightly, and let go of every rein inside his marrow!

HUUM!

The aura of THE Primeval Osmontian Marrow erupted from him freely.

The fiendish ancientness he had kept settled beneath his composure poured outward in slow, heavy waves, stellar blue-gold pressure carrying that unmistakable flavor of the apex and the earliest, and it rolled across the formation of True Lifeforms like a scent from a deeper age!

The party’s loose formation...tightened.

The storm-antlered one’s head snapped up. The three-faced female’s gray flames dimmed to embers as her every face turned! The stone hound at the rear stopped looking backward!

And Noah floated forward alone and unhurried! Ahead of THE Creature and Anaximander, out past the edge of the golden sands, drifting into the open storm between his island and the blade in red as if the space between them belonged to him, as if her Ananke Intent sealing the region was a courtesy he was permitting, and he spoke with a lazy, unbothered cadence.

"Lissana."

...!

The blade in red did not move, but her crimson eyes sharpened by a fraction, and behind her, Ormarr’s coils actually flinched.

"That is your designation, is it not? A blade, an extremely sharp blade...used by Jarl Erling." Noah’s voice carried easily through the suppression field entirely unafraid!

"And Ormarr fucking Grimtunge. Tell me, have you restored your standing with Jarl Erling yet, or is this errand your only chance to suck up? The only chance for you to prove yourself?"

"You...!" Ormarr’s crimson eyes flared wide as his grand composure cracked down the middle! "How do you know of..."

"I know a great many things." Noah’s smile did not widen.

And within his gaze, silently, THE Protagonist’s Omniscient Regard drank.

Every reaction fed it! Every flinch and flare peeled another layer, the Sheets deepening as he got more and more records, as suspicion and alarm loosened the weavings of the beings before him.

His eyes returned to Lissana, and his voice gentled into something almost curious. "Such a gathering. Such expenditure! Do you know exactly what you were sent to do?"

"..."

"Do you know why you all were sent here? Why the Steed was woken for the first time in your service? Why your orders are capture, undamaged, when Jarl Erling has never once in his long dying cared whether merchandise arrived intact?" Each question fell like a drop of ink into clear water!

"You were told nothing. Have you asked yourself why he would hide and not come himself?"

"Careful, all of you." Ormarr had recovered enough to talk.

"He plays games. He talks and talks while..."

"While what, Ormarr?" Noah turned to the Serpent lazily. "Someone as afraid as you shouldn’t talk too much. I have already killed a part of you once."

WAA!

"I’ll make things even simpler. Sense my existence. Sense the existence of those behind me."

"What does it smell like?" Noah asked softly. "What does it feel like?"

"You all felt the light. Your dying master pointed you at things backed by Primeval Ones and told you nothing. So I will ask the only question that matters...Will you all stake your lives to infuriate the Primeval Lifeforms sitting behind us...for the dying Jarl who could not even come here himself? How many years does that cursed fucker have left to live anyways? You all will be free soon enough...or are you waiting for his death to loot his corpse? Is this part of why you are in his service?"
