Chapter 5538: Ordinary! II

<THE Ymnaros>

The gardens had been green and gold for longer than most Dimensions had been standing, running in long terraces across a land that had no edges anyone had ever found, the green shading into the gold and back again as wide slow rivers cut through all of it carrying light instead of silt, and small things had lived there and none of them had ever been important, and that had always been the entire point of the place!

Now the terraces were burning.

The rivers had been broken open along their whole length as their light bled out into the soil in long spreading stains, and the gold had gone black in rings around a hundred impact sites, and where the gardens had climbed they now sagged, and where they had run they now simply stopped.

And above the ruin stood the armies.

They filled the sky in ranks that went back past seeing, existences of Infinity in their tens of thousands, their power built out of escalation and quiet compounding as they hung in their formations with their weight pressing the ruined land flat beneath them, and the weakest thing in that entire gathered host read at THE Triassic Scale!

The weakest!

The Fourth Scale of Existence, the tier where a single being could stand upon an Observable Existence and be the largest fact inside it, and here that was the floor, here that was the rank and file, the bodies you counted in blocks rather than by name!

And scattered up through those blocks, spaced apart the way real threats are always spaced apart, there stood over a hundred figures who carried the unmistakable weight of THE Mesozoic Scale, the Fifth, each one of them a thing that ordinary Dimensions built their entire histories around, and there were over a hundred of them in one sky on one afternoon for one garden.

And rising out of the armies like statues that had been given breath, several massive Infinite True Lifeforms towered above everything!

They were vast past the ranks around them, vast past any comparison with the ranks around them, their bodies reading less as bodies than as landscapes that had agreed to hold a shape for a while, and their existences were seamless in the way that only a True Lifeform’s ever is, the claim of "I am" running through them without a single gap for anything to take hold of, and that seamlessness set them above THE Mesozoic entirely.

Cenozoic!

And the difference between the Fifth and the Sixth, in the end, was time.

Beings at the Mesozoic Scale built their Pantheons and made them grander and grander, and it was work enough to eat ages of a life, but a being who crossed into THE Cenozoic Scale kept doing all of that and then began adding something else into their Pantheonic Dimension, something that almost nothing in existence could hold, and what they added were weavings of time!

And most of them could not use it.

That was the honest truth of the Sixth Scale and the reason so many beings who reached it looked, from the outside, like nothing more than very large Mesozoics, because the technique was simply too hard to grasp, and entities in the early stretches of THE Cenozoic Scale carried those weavings inside their Pantheons the way a person carries a language they cannot yet speak, aware of it, unable to use it, fighting with weight and grandeur alone while the real capability sat unopened inside them for ages.

The power at Cenozoic was known as THE Epochal Sovereign Weave!

More plainly, and more often, it was called Temporal-Environmental Overwrite, and a True Lifeform who had truly grasped it no longer fought inside a Dimension’s current time or under its current physical rules at all, but dragged the space around them backward or forward instead, hauling the surroundings into weavings where their own Pantheon and their own existence ruled absolutely, so that the fight happened there, in their epoch, on ground that had been made to agree with them before the first blow ever landed.

And the results of it were obscene.
