"What’s going on? Is something wrong?" Yue Qinghuan noticed Xue An’s unusual demeanor and immediately asked.
She had never seen such a shocked expression on Xue An’s face, as if something beyond his understanding had occurred.
Hearing this, Xue An finally began to recover gradually, then slowly exhaled and shook his head, "It’s nothing!"
Even so, his voice still trembled slightly.
Seeing this, Yue Qinghuan wisely closed her mouth and did not pursue further questioning.
Because she knew well that something incomprehensible must have happened, otherwise Xue An wouldn’t be so out of sorts.
But the question is, what exactly happened?
It was fine just a moment ago, wasn’t it?
Could it be that there’s something strange about this mountain gate archway?
Yue Qinghuan kept looking around, trying to see what could have shocked Xue An so much.
But she couldn’t have imagined in her wildest dreams that Xue An’s loss of composure was solely due to the three characters on the archway.
Mount Bu Zhou!
In the ancient mythological legends of the Hua Clan, this mountain was considered the sky’s pillar and, alongside the Fusang tree of the East Sea, the only path connecting the human realm and the Heavenly Realm.
Because of the conflict between the ancient water god Gonggong and the Fire God Zhu Rong, a great battle ensued. During this battle, Gonggong angrily smashed against Mount Bu Zhou, ultimately causing the sky pillar to collapse and the earth’s boundaries to break.
This is recorded in the "Huainanzi - Astrological Training" Chapter.
The sky pillar broke, the earth’s boundaries severed, and the heavens tilted northwest, causing the sun, moon, and stars to move, and the southeast earth collapsed, resulting in rampant floods and dust.
This suggests that the breaking of Mount Bu Zhou led to the heavens losing support and tilting northwest, dragging the sun, moon, and stars along with them, while the southeast ground collapsed, causing widespread flooding.
Thus leading to tales of Nüwa mending the heavens and other ancient legends.
This is an almost universally known story among the Hua Clan, and naturally, Xue An was no exception.
But no matter who it is, everyone simply regards it as a mythological legend.
Unexpectedly, today in the Sky Beyond the Skies, he actually saw the real Mount Bu Zhou.
Though only a part of it remained, it still filled Xue An with immense dread.
Because at least it proved one thing, that the ancient mythological legends of the Hua Clan were not false, and at least this Mount Bu Zhou truly existed.
And if Mount Bu Zhou exists, then Gonggong, Zhu Rong, and even Nüwa might also truly exist.
As a result, the whole matter became even more mysterious and convoluted.
Why would Mount Bu Zhou from the ancient legends of the Hua Clan appear here?
Where did the other half go?
Who placed it here?
Since these ancient gods truly exist, where are they now?
Why didn’t they appear during that great disaster of the Hua Clan?
Countless questions surged in Xue An’s mind, causing his usually firm Taoist heart to become somewhat bewildered.
But soon he suppressed all the questions in his heart and said in a deep voice, "Let’s go! The immortal sect’s cavern should be at the mountain’s peak."
After saying that, Xue An took large strides towards the mountain top.
Yue Qinghuan and Zhu Zhesheng exchanged confused glances, not understanding what was happening with Xue An.
However, the two quickly put aside their questions and followed closely behind.
Meanwhile, as Xue An and his group rushed towards the mountain top, the Zhai Family and Witch God Cult crew finally overcame numerous perils and arrived outside the light screen.
