Such an environment could be said to be extremely harsh.
But even so, it still couldn’t halt the march of Xue An and the others.
Xue An shone brightly, resembling a sword piercing through the darkness as he charged forward.
Meanwhile, as Xue An’s group faced fierce winds and torrential rain, soldiers from the other eleven families encountered their own dangers.
Long Zhan looked gloomily at the marked tree he had just seen, and if he remembered correctly, this should be the third time he’s arrived here.
All the soldiers from the Long Family noticed something strange and stood silently without moving.
The hapless Commander-in-Chief from the Long Family carefully observed the surroundings and finally said helplessly, "There’s something peculiar about this forest; we’ve likely been trapped by some sort of force field, so we’ve just been circling around!"
Long Zhan licked his dry lips and suddenly punched out fiercely.
Crack!
The towering tree broke apart with a loud crash.
Then Long Zhan said, "No matter what kind of force field it is, today we must get out. From now on, everyone moves in a straight line, destroying any trees in the way!"
The Long Family’s Commander-in-Chief wanted to stop him but finally shrugged, "Then let’s do it!"
Following this, Long Family’s soldiers collectively transformed into tree-felling machines, frantically demolishing every tree along the way.
But just a quarter of an hour later, everyone halted because a towering giant tree appeared in front of them.
It still had the mark left by Long Zhan.
"What’s going on? I clearly destroyed this tree just now!" Long Zhan exclaimed in shock.
The Long Family’s Commander-in-Chief smirked coldly, "If this forest were easy to crack, how could it be the second trial?"
The Long Family fell into an unsolvable maze.
Meanwhile, on the other side, the Zhongli Family was also mired in confusion.
Zhongli Wuwang stroked his chin and stared absentmindedly at the boundless wilderness before him.
After a long while, he finally said, "Damn, it seems we’re lost!"
The soldiers: "..."
"No worries, it’s nothing to me. Let’s head in another direction now!"
Zhongli Wuwang waved his hand, and everyone changed course to move in the other direction.
But soon they encountered another problem as a fork in the road appeared ahead.
They stopped and all looked towards their commander, Zhongli Wuwang.
He grabbed his head, "Damn, it’s forcing me to use a secret trick."
Speaking, he reached into his coat and pulled out a small wooden stick.
No matter why he carried it, he just did.
Then he muttered something, tossing it into the air.
Pop!
The stick landed, pointing to one of the roads.
Zhongli Wuwang chuckled, picked the stick up, and pointed to another road.
"We’ll go this way!"
The soldiers looked dumbfounded, and a close squad leader quietly asked, "Commander, but didn’t the stick point to this road just now?"
"You don’t understand, do you? This is called going against the norm. How can I, a dignified commander, follow a stick?" Zhongli Wuwang said confidently.
The soldiers: "..."
While Zhongli Wuwang was having fun, Xue An finally emerged from the realm of fierce winds and rain, and everything instantly calmed down.
Everyone felt a persistent ringing in their ears, a shadow left by the storm.
But regardless, they managed to get out.
Xue An took a deep breath, the arduous trek had put tremendous pressure on him, but he did not rest; instead, he spoke solemnly.
