I checked my reflection in my compact mirror one last time, adjusting a stray lock of hair before approaching the Crescent Design building. The glossy glass and steel structure loomed before me, a testament to Sebastien’s success–and a reminder of what I’d lost. My heart quickened at the thought of seeing him again. I’d been trying to reach him for days, and today I wouldn’t take no for an answer.
As I neared the entrance, movement caught my eye. A familiar figure emerged from the revolving doors, and I froze mid–step.
Iris fucking Stone.
She walked out of Crescent Design like she owned the place, her head held high, a satisfied smile playing on her lips. My stomach churned with hatred. Who did she think she was? That long blonde hair swinging behind her, those designer heels clicking on the pavement–everything about her screamed confidence.
I ducked behind a concrete pillar, my nails digging into my palms as I watched her. The bitch looked genuinely happy, which only fueled my rage. After everything that had happened–after she’d publicly humiliated me with that coffee stunt–she had the nerve to prance around Sebastien’s company?
“You ruined everything,” I whispered through clenched teeth as memories flooded back.
The way she’d looked at me in the lobby that day, so calm, so fucking superior. The hot coffee soaking through my silk blouse. The whispers and stares from everyone watching. The shame burning through me as I stood there, dripping and defeated.
My chest tightened at the memory. Before Iris Stone came along, I was the one at Sebastien’s side. I was going to be the next Luna of the Grey pack. All those years we spent together, the promises he’d made—all of it snatched away because of some political marriage to this… nobody.
I watched as she disappeared around the corner, her steps light and purposeful. “Iris Stone,” I muttered, the name bitter on my tongue. “What makes you so special? You’re just a failed designer from a dying pack.”
But even as I said it, I knew it wasn’t true. She wasn’t just anyone anymore. She, was Aurora, the mysterious designer everyone had been raving about. The revelation had spread through the werewolf community like wildfire.
That’s when it hit me–the perfect plan. A cold smile spread across my face as I remembered Catherine Stone, Iris’s gold–digging mother. The woman who’d made Iris’s life miserable for years.
“Catherine Stone,” I whispered to myself, feeling a rush of excitement. “That greedy bitch hates Iris even more than I do.”
I’d heard the rumors about the Stone family’s financial troubles. About how Catherine had nearly lost everything until Iris intervened somehow. But their relationship remained toxic–everyone knew that.
My mind raced with possibilities. Catherine would do anything for money and status. And she knew all of Iris’s weaknesses, all her

“I won’t even need to get my hands dirty,” I murmured, already imagining Catherine tearing Iris down. “Let her own mother do the dirty
work.”
I was so absorbed in my revenge fantasy that I almost missed the sound of the revolving doors moving again. When I looked up, my
breath caught in my throat.
Sebastien. My Sebastien.
He stepped out of the building with Daniel Parker at his side, looking more gorgeous than ever in a charcoal suit that accentuated his broad shoulders. My heart did a little flip, and heat rushed to my cheeks. God, even after everything, he still had this effect on me.
“Sebastien!” My voice came out breathier than I intended as I stepped forward, smoothing down my dress and putting on my sweetest smile. “What a coincidence running into you here…”
