Jealousy Alpha’s Regret
Chapter 241
I watched with growing interest. So Catherine and Kim had gone off–script. Interesting how quickly their united front was crumbling.
“You’re driving around in that flashy car of yours?” Thomas continued, voice rising. “Are you trying to get us caught? If you alert Grey’s people or the Lowells, we’re all dead!” He paused, listening. “I don’t care what Kim needs–get back here now!”
He ended the call with a vicious jab at the screen, muttering curses under his breath.
“Trouble with the team?” I couldn’t resist asking, a small smile playing at my lips.
“Shut up,” Thomas snapped, shoving his phone back into his pocket. “This changes nothing.”
“Seems like your perfect plan isn’t so perfect after all,” I observed. “Catherine’s already abandoned ship.”
His jaw clenched. “This would have worked flawlessly if everyone had just followed my instructions.”
While Thomas paced and fumed, I continued working on my restraints, careful to keep my movements subtle. I’d been trained in escape techniques–a precaution after an anti–werewolf group had targeted some of our community members
last year. These ropes were loosening more with each careful twist of my wrists.
Thomas suddenly stopped pacing and turned his attention back to me, eyes narrowing as he caught the slight movement
of my hands.
“Don’t waste your energy,” he said, walking over to check my bindings. “Those aren’t ordinary ropes. They’re hunter–grade,
specifically designed to hold werewolves.”
Rey’s
I immediately stopped struggling, not wanting him to realize how much progress I’d made. “Can’t blame a girl for trying.”
Thomas smirked, seemingly satisfied that I was securely bound. He pulled out a pack of cigarettes, tapping one out and
placing it between his lips.
“Always the fighter,” he said, lighting the cigarette and taking a deep drag. “Just like your father.” He walked toward the window, his back to me. “It won’t help you though. My plan might have hit a small snag, but I’ve accounted for everything
else
While his attention was diverted, I slipped my hand further through the loosened knot, feeling a surge of hope. These “hunter grade” ropes were surprisingly similar to the ones I’d practiced escaping from in self defense classes.
I carefully reached into my collar, fingers finding the small recording device I’d hidden there earlier today—a habit I’d
developed after one too many manipulated conversations with Catherine. Thomas had no idea he’d just provided a detailed confession to murder.

Chapter 241
“You know what your problem is, Iris?” Thomas asked, flicking ash onto the floor. “You’ve always been too trusting. Just
like your father.”
I said nothing, just watched him with cold calculation. My fingers had been working at the ropes for minutes, and I’d
finally found the weakness–whoever tied me had used a standard double–loop knot instead of the reinforced hunter’s lock
I’d been warned about. The special fibers still burned against my skin, but the improper knot gave me just enough
leverage. It was painful and slow, but I was making progress.
“My plan is still perfect,” he continued, confidence returning to his voice. “The hunters I hired were specialized in tracking werewolves. The ropes holding you are designed to suppress your strength.” He took another drag from his cigarette. “Your little wolf friend Grey will pay whatever I ask to get you back. Then-” he made a slashing motion with his hand, “we disappear. New identities, new life, somewhere far from this miserable town.”
His phone rang again, interrupting his monologue. He pulled it from his pocket with an irritated gesture.
“What now?” he muttered as he turned away to take the call.
I allowed myself a small, cold smile. Thomas thought he had me trapped and helpless. He thought his plan was perfect.
