Miles recovered quickly, his professional mask sliding back into place. No. Just thought she tooked familiar for a moment. My mistake.

I micrely smiled faintly, saying nothing. Professional distance was my best defense right now.

They’ll never believe a mere intern would know the director of Polaris Studio personally anyway.

As servers brought in appetizers, Miles began discussing the collaboration details. I halflistened, memories of my time at Polaris playing in my mindthe late nights, the creativity, the recognition I’d earned as Autora, it felt like another lifetime.

Let’s see what you’ve all prepared so far,Miles suggested as the main course arrived. I’d like to gauge your understanding of the project.

I calmly took out my sketches, aware that Miles would immediately recognize my style. He moved around the table, examining each designer’s work briefly. When he reached my sketches, he paused, studying them longer than the others. His expression revealed nothing, but I knew he’d

made the connection.

Interesting that he’s not calling me out immediately.

From across the table, I noticed Sam smirking, clearly expecting me to be humiliated. He probably thought my unconventional sketches would be ridiculed by the famous Miles.

Miles held up one of my sketches. And this is?he asked, his tone deliberately neutral.

I noticed Sebastien’s brow furrow slightly as he looked at my work. I could practically read his thoughtsit looked like childish scribbling to

him.

Whose draft is this?Sebastien asked, his voice betraying his disapproval.

All eyes turned to me. I could feel the weight of their stareshuman colleagues curious, wolf colleaguesgazes more intense, their heightened senses picking up on the subtle tension.

That’s mine,I replied evenly, my voice calm and matteroffact. Is there an issue with it?

The Polaris team looked like they’d seen a ghost. Several exchanged glances, while others stared openly between me and my sketches. I felt Lisa shift uncomfortably beside me.

Miles’s eyes never left mine. No issue. Just noting theunique style of Miss?

Stone,I replied with a polite smile. Iris Stone.

Beth jumped in, clearly nervous. Iris just joined our team. She’s an intern, actually, but Marcus Foster recommended her personally.

An intern?Miles’s eyebrows raised as he looked at me with renewed interest. Well, Miss Stone, on behalf of Polaris Studio, let me welcome you to the industry with a toast.

He raised his wine glass, staring down at me with an air of superiority that was all too familiar. I could feel the pressure he was deliberately placing on me, the spotlight making me uncomfortable. The chandelier light reflected off his glass, momentarily blinding me, taking me back to those intimidating days at Polaris when I was constantly belittled.

I met his gaze steadily. I understand the importance of showing respect, but I’m afraid that’s not possible. I want to contribute fully to this project, and if drinking would compromise my health and ability to work effectivelyI let the implication hang in the air.

I saw Sam’s smirk fade as his attempt to see me embarrassed backfired. This is nothing compared to what I endured at Polaris.
