Chapter 251
Iris’s POV
I stared at my phone screen, watching the absolute silence that followed my message in the werewolf community group. No new comments, no arguments, nothing. Just digital stillness after my simple assertion: Anyone who sides with Kim on this matter is positioning themselves against
“Sometimes, intimidation works better than explanation,” I said, setting my phone down with a satisfied smile. The werewolf community understood power dynamics, and I’d finally stopped playing the role of the docile Stone daughter.
Jack raised an eyebrow. “Effective approach. Kim will be furious when she sees that.”
“She probably already has,” I replied, feeling oddly serene about it. “But I don’t care anymore. Let her rage all she wants.”
The rest of the afternoon passed peacefully. Jack left after making me promise to call if Catherine or Kim returned. I spent a few hours working on some design sketches before getting ready for tonight’s Lowell family gathering–my official introduction to the family I apparently belonged to.

composed, elegant, ready to face whatever came next.
When I opened the door, Ethan stood there in a tailored charcoal suit. His eyes widened slightly as he took me in, an expression of surprise
crossing his features.
“What’s wrong?” I asked, suddenly self–conscious. “Is something the matter with how I look?”
“No, not at all,” Ethan said, recovering quickly with a warm smile. “You just… you look stunning. It caught me off guard.”
I felt my cheeks warm. “I’m not even wearing makeup yet. Is it really that shocking?”
“It’s not about makeup. He offered his arm. “You have this glow about you. Hard to explain.”
I tried not to react. The pregnancy glow was real, apparently–and noticeable to werewolves. I’d have to be more careful.
As we walked toward the parking garage, Ethan briefed me on tonight’s gathering. Grandfather is already there, making sure everything’s
