Chapter 204

JULIAN’S POV

I couldn’t believe it. I just couldn’t believe it.

I had lost Amelia just like that. They didn’t even give me visitation rights. Not a single day. Not a single hour. The judge had completely cut me out of my own daughter’s life like I was a nobody.

My mother, my father, and Leonie all stepped out of the courtroom with me, our legal team following behind us in a heavy, angry silence. We didn’t say a word to the reporters as we pushed past them and got into the cars. We went straight to my family estate.

The moment we walked through the front door and entered the house, the anger inside me boiled over. I didn’t care about manners anymore. I marched right up to my father, reached out, and grabbed him tightly by the collar of his suit jacket.

“How did this happen?” I yelled, my voice shaking with rage as I glared into his eyes. “How did Brandon get his hands on those pieces of evidence? He had everything. Even my private medical records! Explain it to me. You said you had it all handled. So what the hell happened there dad?”

My father’s face went completely dark. With a hard shove, he pushed my hands off him and sent me stumbling back.

“Fix yourself, Julian!” he snapped, his voice loud and cold. “I don’t know how he got them. I have been efficient in hiding everything for you. Our people cleared those records years ago. Someone leaked them.”

My mother stepped forward, her heels clicking loudly against the marble floor. Her face was twisted into a tight, ugly line. “It had to be Aria,” she said, her voice dripping with venom.

“That girl has been plotting to destroy this family from the very start. She probably dug through your life just to find something to use against you. That woman is so wicked. After keeping our grand baby from us, she dared to pull this stunt?”

I whipped my head around to look at her, my teeth clenched. “Don’t talk about Aria that way,” I shouted, the words tearing from my throat before I could stop them. “You don’t know anything about her.”

My father let out a loud, mocking laugh that echoed through the high foyer. He looked at me like I was the most pathetic thing he had ever seen.

“Look at you,” my father sneered, shaking his head in disgust. “You are truly pathetic, Julian. Even now, after we just lost a Vance child in a court of law, Aria still has you wrapped around her little fingers. You are still defending the woman who just stripped you of your rights,”

He took a step closer, his eyes digging into mine. “Besides, why the fuck did you act like a mad person in there? You completely ruined our chances.”

My eyes felt hot and bloodshot, the room blurry around the edges. My head was pounding violently. “I was trying to get my daughter back!” I screamed, my chest heaving. “She was right there. They were taking her away from me.”

“Oh, please,” my father barked, waving his hand at me like I was a child. “You couldn’t even stay sober for a few hours to save your own case!”

I went completely stiff, the words hitting me like a physical blow. He was right. I knew I had drank that morning before going to the court. I had a few glasses just to stop my hands from shaking, just to clear the fog in my brain.

But I thought everything would be fine. I thought I could mask the smell with cologne. I thought I had it under control. I never expected Brandon’s lawyer to bring out my entire medical history in front of the judge. Leonie finally stepped between us, putting her hands up to keep my father and me apart. “Everyone, please, calm down,” she said, her voice tight but trying to sound reasonable.

“Fighting among ourselves is not going to fix this. The most important thing right now is to figure out a way to

get your grandchild back. We need a new plan.”

My mother looked at Leonie, her eyes wide with stress. “Is that even possible? The judge made a final ruling. He gave her full custody.”

Leonie looked at me. “We could ask the family lawyer. Maybe there’s a way to get the judge to change his

decision.”

I just stood there quietly, my throat feeling completely dry and parched. The walls of the house felt like they were closing in on me. I couldn’t handle the shouting, the blame, or the looks of disappointment.

I needed to numb the pain before it drove me completely insane. “I want a drink,” I muttered, my voice dull as I turned toward the stairs.

“Absolutely not,” my father shouted, his voice booming through the hall. “You are already wasted, Julian. Are you planning on killing yourself first? Look at you. You can barely stand.”

“I don’t care,” I yelled back, turning around to face them one last time. My eyes scanned their faces, but all I felt was a deep, empty hollow inside my chest. “Nothing matters without Amelia and Aria in my life. Do you hear me? Nothing!”

My mother gasped, her hand flying to her chest. She pointed a finger at Leonie. “How can you say that? You have a wife standing right here, Julian. Leonie is your wife.”

I looked at Leonie. She was staring at me with a look of pure shock and hurt, but I didn’t care about her feelings anymore. She wasn’t Aria. She would never be Aria.

“I will divorce her as soon as I get my family back,” I stated coldly, my voice deadpan and flat. Leonie flinched as if I had slapped her across the face.

My mother started crying out in horror, and my father roared my name in anger, but there was no changing my mind. I turned on my heel and moved away from them, marching straight toward the wine cellar downstairs.

I hurried down the stone steps, threw the heavy door open, and stepped inside the cold room. I immediately slammed the door shut and turned the key, locking it from the inside.

Almost instantly, my father’s heavy fists began pounding violently against the wood from the outside. “Julian. Open this door right now,” he yelled, his voice muffled through the thick wood. “Julian!”
