The morning sun filtered through the sheer silk curtains of our master suite, casting long, golden beams across the dark hardwood floor.
For the first time in months, the heavy, suffocating weight that had rested on my chest was completely gone. The news outlets had been broadcasting the fall of the Vance Group all morning.
Arthur’s personal and corporate accounts were completely frozen, Leonie was sitting in a federal holding cell awaiting her arraignment, and the endless harassment that had shadowed my life had finally grinded to a halt.
I sat at the vanity table, carefully brushing my hair, watching Brandon through the mirror as he adjusted his navy tie in front of the full-length frame.
“You look distant,” I said softly, setting the hairbrush down and turning in my chair to face him.
Brandon paused, his hand resting on his collar. He looked over at me, his eyes instantly softening as a gentle smile touched his lips. He walked across the room, stopping right beside my chair, and reached down to take my hand in his.
“I was just thinking about how quiet the estate feels today,” he murmured, lifting my fingers to his lips to press a tender kiss against my knuckles. “No emergency calls from Marcus. No legal teams crowding the lower floor. Just peace.”
“It feels surreal,” I admitted, leaning my cheek against his hip as his arm wrapped securely around my shoulders. “For so long, I thought Julian and his family would always be there, pulling strings from behind the scenes. Knowing they have lost everything… it feels like I can finally breathe.”
“You never have to look over your shoulder again, Aria,” Brandon said, his voice dropping to a low, steady tone that sent a comforting warmth straight to my heart. “I promised you I would protect you and Amelia, and I meant every word. Today is about celebrating a new beginning.”
“Speaking of today,” I said, looking up at him with a bright smile. “Are we still going to the new building?”
“Of course,” Brandon replied, leaning down to capture my lips in a soft, lingering kiss that left me slightly breathless. “The motorcade is ready downstairs. Amelia is already waiting near the front doors with her coat
on.”
An hour later, our motorcade pulled up to the main entrance of the newly constructed Sterling Enterprises flagship skyscraper in the heart of the financial district.
The magnificent glass tower stretched up toward the clear blue sky, its silver steel frame gleaming brightly in the afternoon sun.
Brandon stepped out of the luxury sedan first, turning to offer his hand to me while Marcus held the door open. I slid out of the car, holding Amelia’s small hand as she marvelled at the towering building above us.
“Look how big it is, Mama,” Amelia whispered in awe, her little eyes wide as she tilted her head all the way
back.

“It is very big, sweetie, I laughed softly, squeezing her small hand gently.

Brandon picked Amelia up into his strong arms, placing her securely on his hip while keeping his other hand firmly rested against the small of my back as he led us inside.
The grand lobby was breathtaking. Massive white marble pillars extended toward a soaring glass atrium, and a sleek water feature cascaded down a dark granite wall near the entrance.
Dozens of high-level executives, architects, and staff members lined the lobby, bowing their heads respectfully as Brandon walked past.
“Welcome, Mr. Sterling,” the head project director said, stepping forward with a leather-bound folder. “The top floors are completely secured and prepared for your private walkthrough.”
“Thank you, David,” Brandon said smoothly. “We will start at the executive penthouse level.”
We stepped into the high-speed private elevator. The smooth metal doors closed, and within seconds, the lift glided effortlessly up to the sixty-fifth floor.
When the doors opened, I gasped softly.
The entire floor was framed by floor-to-ceiling panoramic glass windows, offering an unobstructed, breathtaking view of the entire city skyline and the sparkling blue bay beyond.
The interior was beautifully designed with light oak flooring, cream velvet sofas, and modern art installations.
“This floor is beautiful, Brandon,” I said, walking toward the wide window to look down at the city below. “The view is incredible.”
“I am glad you like it,” Brandon said, walking up behind me and setting Amelia down near a plush leather armchair where she immediately began playing with a wooden toy block set left on the coffee table.
Brandon stepped closer, wrapping both of his arms around my waist from behind and resting his chin softly against my shoulder.
“This isn’t just an executive penthouse, Aria,” he whispered close to my ear.
I turned slightly in his arms, looking at him with a curious frown. “What do you mean?”
“I had this entire floor custom-designed specifically for you,” Brandon revealed softly, his eyes searching mine with intense tenderness. “Past those double doors is a private, state-of-the-art office and studio space flooded with natural sunlight. Whenever the stress from managing your own company gets too heavy, I want you to have a private sanctuary right here above mine where you can come to unwind, work on your brand strategies, or simply relax in absolute peace.”
My heart did a sudden, fluttery leap in my chest. I looked toward the frosted glass doors at the end of the hall. then back up into Brandon’s warm, dark eyes.
“A space for my company?” I asked, my voice trembling slightly with emotion.
