Crash Part I
They were almost to the car when out of nowhere another car slammed into the front of their waiting vehicle.
Phineas‘ lips pulled from Juniper’s as they all turned to stare incredulously at their crashed vehicle.
“What the actual fuck?” Phineas slowly set Juniper on her feet as they looked at the tangled mess of the two cars.
“Is that Denise?” Beni’s voice carried over the sounds of people screaming at the sight and racing to see if anyone was hurt. “That’s not her car. Whose car is she driving?”
“Check on our driver,” Juniper was running towards the car, evading Phineas‘ hand as she worried about the man driving the SUV which had been taking her everywhere for the last while.
“How did she know we’d be here?” Adil demanded angrily as he helped Juniper open the driver’s side door. They were both leaning in, checking on the driver of the parked vehicle.
“Hey, are you okay?” she reached out and tapped his shoulder gently.
“Fuck, where did she come from?” the driver complained as he looked around with a dazed expression on his face. “I was watching you four coming towards the car. My orders were to stay in the vehicle because we’d be pulling away right away.” He lifted a hand to his forehead and then looked at the blood on his fingers from the impact of the deployed airbag to his face. His nose looked broken.
“Is anything else hurting?” Juniper leaned over him shoving the airbag away angrily as she tried to see him for additional injuries.
“No. I don’t think so. Did you notice it?” the driver asked seriously of Adil as he unclipped his seatbelt and tried to squeeze out of his seat.
“The lack of the sound of her brakes? Yeah. It was deliberate.” Adil shot an annoyed glance at the woman getting out of the car.
The driver winced and Juniper noticed it, “what?”
“My arm might be broken,” he admitted as he finally escaped the car.
“Bitch,” Juniper snapped furiously as she looked him over. She looked at Phineas who was on the phone. He mouthed the word “police” to her, and she nodded angrily. The driver held his arm against his chest, and she noted his wrist hanging at an awkward angle. Blood streamed down his face from his nose and a wide cut over his forehead. Two of his colleagues took him to the side and sat him down while they tended to him.
Stomping ragefully towards the vehicle where people were leaning into Denise’s car to help her out, she was barely aware of how people were moving out of her way. She shoved two women who were holding Denise upright and grabbed the other woman by the hair and yelled at her, “what the fuck is wrong you, you psychotic bitch! You could have killed him.”
Beni and Adil both got to her before she landed the punch, her arm pulled back poised to strike the woman’s bleeding face.
“Don’t hit her.” Beni crooned in her ear. “Too many witnesses.”
“I fucking want to beat her into the ground,” Juniper felt her feet leave the ground as Adil lifted her right up, confining her to his chest as his arms wrapped around her chest.
“What are you doing here?” Denise screamed at her. “Why are you with Phineas?”
“He is mine. Mine! I get his affection. I get his attention. I get his love. Not you. Never you!” She elbowed Adil, “put me down.”
“Not until you promise not to hurt her. Too many people watching.”
Her eyes lit up Adil. and Juniper gave a laugh. “That’s just mean,
“I can’t think of a better punishment for him than to be stuck with her.” Adil gave a sound which was more giggle than a grown man should possess. “Can you imagine?”
“I must ask,” Beni spoke up, “Denise, why did you lie about
being allergic to latex? Were you hoping Kyst got you pregnant when you and he were cheating on your spouses?” he said it loudly so the growing number of people staring at the scene of the accident were able to hear the bold question.
“What a very good question!” Juniper nodded enthusiastically. “Were you hoping to baby–trap my husband when you were fucking him in my home?”
Denise’s eyes darted wildly around the crowd. “No. I have an IUD.”
“Do you though?” Juniper tilted her head to one side.
“I do!”
“Then why lie about the latex?”
“What the fuck? Denise?” Kyst’s voice rang out as he squeezed through the crowd, no longer contained by the security team who’d been restraining him as they dealt with the situation of the cars and their colleague.
