Harvey looked at Eowyn and Leon looking at him and felt utterly lost for words.

“Did you sleep together?” Leon’s tone was cold as ice.

“Where did you crash last night?” Eowyn chimed in right after.

“Hell, knowing you two must’ve been a curse for me!” Harvey barked. Normally, no one would dare to interrogate him like this.

Unfortunately, Leon was his uncle Leon, and Eowyn was Zoya’s best friend.

He couldn’t drag them out and just beat them up.

Harvey was this close to just cussing her out. He said, “Eowyn, you seriously have the guts to ask me that? I was hammered last night, and you dragged me home. Now you’re grilling a drunk guy about where he passed out? Damn, you’re unbelievable!”

Leon turned to Eowyn, his eyes narrowing. “Did you drive drunk?”

“No, I called for someone to drive us,” Eowyn blurted out, practically tripping over her words.

Right after, she groaned to herself, ‘Why am I acting like a scared kid in front of him? It’s like getting called out by the teacher back in elementary school.

“Then where did you leave Harvey in the room last night?” Leon kept pressing.

Eowyn really didn’t know how to answer. She glanced over at Harvey, desperation in her eyes, silently begging him to rescue her.

Harvey had an urge to just toss Eowyn straight out the window.

But Leon had already marched up to him. “Harvey, you’d better give me a straight answer. Did you sleep last night? Where did you sleep?”

As he spoke, Leon shrugged off his suit jacket and rolled up his sleeves, looking every bit like he was about to throw down.

Eowyn was stunned. She thought, ‘What is Leon doing? Is he actually going to fight Harvey?‘

She’d seen Harvey throw down before. He could really handle himself in a fight. Leon might seem all polished and refined, but if he got into it with Harvey, he’d be the one leaving with bruises.

Eowyn stepped up, blocking Leon. “Hey, back off. Even if Harvey and I did sleep in the same bed, so what? We’re adults. It’s not like we broke any laws. Is it really that big a deal for you? Why are you grilling us like we’re kids caught sneaking out?”

Leon’s frown deepened, his lips nearly a razor–thin line as he glared at Eowyn standing between him and Harvey. “So you actually got feelings for this punk?”

Eowyn was about to fire back, but Harvey just nudged her out of the way. “Enough, Leon. I woke up on the damn floor, alright? Even if we’d ended up in bed together, it’s not like I’d touch her. I am not into her, so I would not take advantage of her.”

Eowyn had been feeling pretty relieved at first, but as Harvey kept talking, she just got more and more annoyed.

“Come on, what do you mean by that? If anything actually happened between us, I’d be the one losing out, not you!” Eowyn huffed.

Harvey raised an eyebrow. “You seriously think you’d be the one losing out if we ended up sleeping together?”

Eowyn was caught off guard, then shot back, “Don’t forget, your uncle used to be my boyfriend. If we actually did end up

in bed, it would be awkward for me since I almost became your aunt!”

Harvey nearly coughed up a lung at Eowyn’s words.

‘Wow, Eowyn seriously has no filter,’ Harvey thought.

As soon as she said it, Eowyn felt the awkwardness crash down. ‘Great job. Way to drag Leon into the drama. Could I mess this up any worse?‘ she cursed herself.

“Leon, that just kind of slipped out. I don’t mean it. Don’t take it personally, alright?” she stammered.

“What if I do take it personally?” Leon shot back in a cold, challenging tone.

Eowyn was lost for words, then muttered, “What exactly do you want from me?”

“When you brought Harvey here last night, what did you have with you?” Leon demanded.

“Just my bag and my phone,” Eowyn answered.

“Where are they now?” Leon pressed.

Eowyn grabbed her bag and phone, holding them up. “Right here. What’s your

deal?”

“Let’s go,” Leon said, taking her hand.

Then he shot Harvey a look. “Next time, don’t get blackout drunk. If anything really goes south, you’re gonna regret it.”

“Yeah, whatever,” Harvey shrugged, watching the two of them leave his apartment. Only then did he finally breathe easy.

‘They are finally gone. If Leon had gone full drama mode, my whole place might’ve gotten wrecked, Harvey grumbled to himself.

But seeing how Leon acted around Eowyn, Harvey couldn’t help but think, ‘Looks like I was right. Did Leon seriously never get over Eowyn?

‘From what I know, almost everyone Leon is obsessed with always ends up with a tragic end, unless they are

his family.‘

“Hey, Leon, slow down. I just woke up and haven’t even washed my face. Look at my hair, it’s a disaster…” Eowyn complained.

‘Can I at least do something about how I look before we leave?‘ she thought.

But Leon ignored her completely, pulling her over to his car, popped open the passenger door, and said, “Get in.”

“I can go home by myself. I don’t need your ride,” Eowyn replied.

“You don’t think there’s a lot we need to talk about?” Leon’s tone was firm. “If you’re not willing to talk today…”

Eowyn knew Leon’s personality pretty well.

If she didn’t clear things up with him today, Leon, who was the top lawyer in Ranard City, could pull off all kinds of drama for her.

She obediently got into the car.

Leon started the engine and slowly drove out of the neighborhood.

“So, where are we supposed to talk?” Eowyn asked.

“Your place,” Leon said.

Eowyn stalled. She didn’t want Leon showing up at her place. “Can’t we pick somewhere else?”

“You honestly think you can show up anywhere looking like that—hair all crazy and you haven’t even washed your face?” Leon shot back.

She couldn’t argue with that. ‘Looks like my apartment really is the only choice,’ she sighed inside.

When Leon stepped into her apartment, Eowyn couldn’t help but feel a bit awkward.

“Go get cleaned up first, then we’ll talk,” Leon said.

“Alright, just make yourself comfortable,” Eowyn replied, grabbing some fresh clothes and heading into the bathroom.

Leon glanced around the apartment. He didn’t spot anything that belonged to a guy, not even a pair of men’s slippers near the door.

‘So she’s not living with her boyfriend? Or maybe he barely ever comes over, Leon wondered to himself.

Realizing that, Leon found himself letting out a silent sigh of relief.

Even though they’d broken up, Leon still found himself thinking about Eowyn from time to time. He hadn’t

dated anyone new, so people just assumed he still couldn’t get over Eowyn.

Leon scoffed inwardly, ‘I am still obsessed with her? Seriously? There is no way.

‘Eowyn doesn’t have that kind of hold on me.

‘It’s not that I can’t move on. Dating is just a total hassle.’

Leon sat down on the couch and spotted a photo album on the coffee table. He picked it up and started flipping through it.

The moment he saw what was inside, his eyes instantly darkened.

The album was full of men.

To top it off, every single one of them was easy on the eyes.

Just then, Eowyn walked out of the bathroom. When she caught sight of Leon holding the photo album, her expression froze for a moment.
