Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 940

Larissa explained the situation to Tawny and then asked, "What are your thoughts?"

After hearing the full story, Tawny agreed almost without hesitation. She felt the same way. She didn't want to live in a world where girls were driven to suicide because of malicious rumors or after being violated, feeling they were somehow 'dirty' and broken.

"Let's do it, Ms. Judson. I'm not afraid of any rumors anymore."

Larissa was pleased by Tawny's transformation. It pained her to see young women in this day and age taking their own lives over slander. She wanted more girls to realize that 'chastity' was a shackle forged in a feudal society, a time when women weren't seen as people but as property. Things were different now. Women had infinite value, far more than what could be measured by an archaic concept of 'purity.'

The day of the show arrived. The first lucky audience member chosen was a young woman, and her question was for Wynn, the male lead.

"Wynn, I'm your biggest fan. I've been following you since your debut, and even when the cheating scandal broke, I stood by you. I'm so glad you're back!" The girl's voice began to tremble with emotion. "I'm not here to ask about your career, but about your love life. Is there any chance you and Tawny will get back together?"

The question hung in the air. Everyone in the audience turned their eyes to Wynn and Tawny on the stage, waiting for an answer.

Wynn took the microphone from the host. "Tawny and I never broke up," he said in a calm, matter-of-fact tone. "We were forced apart for a while. There's no 'getting back together' to speak of."

A wave of murmurs swept through the audience. Tawny herself looked at Wynn, who was seated on the other side of Leila, in complete shock. During filming, they hadn't interacted much outside of scenes and had never spent any time alone. She trusted that Wynn, being the man he was, wouldn't look down on her because of what she'd been through, but she hadn't dared to believe he could still truly accept her.
