Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 153

“Your son Leopold deserved it!” a cold, sharp voice cut through the air.

Sapphira strode past everyone to stand in front of Larissa, shielding her like a mother hen protecting her chick. She looked directly at Kiernan, her expression defiant. “I’ll say it to your face, Dad. Leopold deserved to be hit for the things he said. He deserved it, and if he’d died from it, he would have deserved that too! He’s no better than an animal!”

She then turned her fiery gaze on Paxton and Vivica. “And you two! It’s no wonder Leopold is the way he is, with parents like you. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. You sneak into my home when Neville and I are away to harass my daughter. Forget being her biological parents, even as elders in this family, your behavior is utterly despicable!”

“You watch your mouth, Sapphira!” Vivica screeched, enraged. “You’re the animal! A barren hen who can’t even have her own children!”

She spun back to Kiernan, tears welling in her eyes. “You see, Dad? I was right! For Larissa, Sapphira is ready to declare war on us! She says my son deserved to be hit for his words, but listen to the vile things she’s saying now! Are we a family that solves problems with violence? If so, maybe I should just hit her right back…”

“That’s enough!” Kiernan roared, cutting her off. “Any more of this, and my headache will come roaring back!”

Vivica fell silent.

Kiernan took a deep breath, piecing it together. “So, if I understand correctly, you two went to Larissa to ask for her forgiveness. She refused, and you lost your tempers and said some terrible things to her, is that right?”

“What’s this? You saw how exceptional she was last night and suddenly you regret your decision?” Kiernan jabbed his cane into the ground for emphasis. “You think you can just take her back? The world doesn’t work that way! You’ve lived half a century, stop being so naive!”

Paxton’s face was a stony mask.

Vivica, however, couldn’t hold her tongue. “Dad…”

“Enough, Vivica,” Kiernan interrupted before she could start. “The only thing you’ve said that makes any sense is that we are a family. Do you really want to tear each other apart? If you’re so determined to fight, wait until I’m dead. Until then, you will all behave! Or I swear, I’ll write a new will tomorrow and leave every last penny of the Judson fortune to Paxton’s sister. You two won’t see a dime!”
