Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 156

Hearing Larissa’s analysis, Sapphira shook her head in admiration. “I never would have thought of it that way. In the end, you’ve earned every bit of this yourself.”

“And you were amazing just now, Mom!” Larissa said quickly. “The way you stood up for me was so cool!”

Sapphira blushed, a little embarrassed. She hadn’t realized she could be so fierce when provoked. “As long as you don’t think I was being too harsh.”

“You were being harsh for my sake, not to me. And it wasn’t harsh, it was awesome.”

“You’re making me blush.”

“Come on, let me see the results from your spa day,” Larissa said, carefully studying Sapphira’s face. Her new mom truly was beautiful. Her skin was as smooth as a woman in her early thirties, and her spirit was bright, untouched by the hardships of time. It was a testament to how well her handsome new dad had cherished her over the years.

Sapphira playfully touched her own cheek, her expression expectant. “Well? Have those two wrinkles I was worried about made an appearance?”

Larissa suppressed a smile and shook her head. “Not a single one. You look as young as ever, Mom.”

Sapphira beamed. “You always know just what to say!”

Back at their own house, Vivica couldn’t contain her frustration.

“Paxton, how can you just let that little brat get away with what she did to you? How can you stand it?”

“Sapphira, how’s Larissa? Is she hurt?” He burst through the door, not even pausing to catch his breath, and rushed to the sofa where his wife and daughter were scrolling through posts about Leopold on Twitter.

He knelt before Larissa, his eyes filled with concern.

Larissa was taken aback. “I’m fine, Dad. Nothing happened.”

Neville finally let out a ragged sigh of relief. “That’s good… If anything had happened to you, I would have made your Uncle Paxton and his entire family pay.”

Sapphira shuddered beside them. “I know. I can’t believe how shameless Paxton and Vivica are, waiting until we were both out to corner Larissa. If she weren’t so capable, who knows what they would have done to her.”

Neville’s brow furrowed. He stood up and began pacing restlessly by the table. “This can’t happen again. Bodyguards aren’t enough. I need to find a better way to protect her.”
