Seeing the complex expression on Solon’s face, Larissa raised an eyebrow.

“Is that Honora?” she asked with a knowing smirk.

Solon looked surprised. “How did you know?”

“I told her who you are,” Larissa said simply.

He let out a wry, bitter smile. “You really enjoy stirring up trouble for me, don’t you?”

“It’s only fair,” Larissa shot back playfully. “I did you a favor by agreeing to meet her as Field of Lari, even if the meeting didn’t exactly go as planned.”

Solon chuckled and answered the call, putting it on speaker. Honora’s sweet voice immediately filled the room.

“Solon.”

“Ms. Judson,” Solon’s tone was dripping with sarcasm. “I’m surprised you’re calling me. Weren’t you convinced yesterday that I was conspiring with Larissa to make a fool of you?”

“Solon, I’m so sorry,” Honora said quickly. “I was wrong not to trust you. I’m calling to apologize. Leopold was out of line, and I deeply regret not stopping him.”

“So, you’re saying this is all your brother’s fault?” Solon scoffed.

But Solon was unmoved. “Ms. Judson, you brought this on yourself. With the twenty years of elite cultivation the Judsons gave you, you’d be perfectly fine even if you left. You might not be a high-society heiress anymore, but you’d still have a better start than most. The problem is you can’t let go of what was never yours to begin with. Who is to blame for that?”

He continued his verbal assault. “And it’s frankly disgusting to hear you whine about having to be obedient to earn your brother’s affection, or claim Larissa’s confidence comes from her bloodline. You’re just wallowing in self-pity.”

His words were so blunt that Honora was left speechless.

“Solon, that’s not what I meant… I just genuinely wanted to apologize… Can we meet in person? I want to apologize properly…”

“Don’t bother,” Solon cut her off. “You’re not apologizing because you’re truly sorry. You’re apologizing because you found out who I am. Stop wasting your time on me, Ms. Judson. I am deeply disappointed in you, and I have no interest in being friends with someone like you.”
