Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 223

After reviewing the list, Haskell sent Larissa another message.

[My grandpa originally planned to use this party to officially announce me as the heir to the Palmer family. But after my accident, everyone is speculating that he’s going to give up on me.]

[As my fiancée, you’ll be facing the same scrutiny, especially from the other members of the Palmer family who will use this as an opportunity to undermine us.]

[I’ll put together a file on everyone in the family tonight and send it to you tomorrow. You should familiarize yourself with them so you can handle whatever comes your way at the party.]

Larissa replied with an [OK] sticker.

[A little drama makes things interesting! It’ll liven up the party. It would be boring otherwise~]

Haskell had expected such a response from her and replied jokingly.

Haskell: [Just try not to spill any blood. It’s our engagement party, after all. That would be bad luck.]

Larissa: [No problem!]

Haskell: [Did Torrin bother you again tonight?]

Speak of the devil.

Just then, a message from Torrin popped up on Larissa’s screen.

Torrin: [Larissa, you have two days left to change your mind. If you regret this engagement, just say the word. I’ll take you to the marriage registry tomorrow. Once it’s a done deal, not even the Palmer family can touch you.]

Attached to the message was a photo of his new residency card. Larissa couldn’t tell if he was showing off his new status as a young master of the Dillon family or if he was genuinely serious about marrying her.

She took a screenshot and sent it to Haskell.

The patriarch of the Palmer family, Zoltan Palmer, had two daughters and three sons.

His eldest daughter, Xylee Palmer, was married to a high-ranking official in Regal City surnamed Turner. They had one son. Due to her husband’s sensitive position, she rarely associated with the Palmer family.

The second daughter, Harriett Palmer, had married a self-made entrepreneur. Together, they had ridden the wave of the real estate boom before wisely pivoting to education, eventually establishing a high-end private elementary school in Regal City. They had made a respectable name for themselves and had one daughter, Avril Palmer.

The third son, Tobias Palmer, managed the family’s non-ferrous metals business in Africa. It was a risky venture but yielded high returns. He had a son and a daughter: Faith and Solomon.

The fourth son, Trevor Palmer, was in charge of the family’s new energy vehicle division, a booming industry focused on developing high-end autonomous driving technology. He had two sons, Fraser and Garrick.

Haskell’s father, Thatch, was Zoltan’s youngest and, by all accounts, least successful son.

Haskell had also noted his relationships with his aunts and uncles. Aunt Harriett was neutral. Aunt Xylee was close with Uncle Trevor, which explained why his company received significant local policy support. Uncle Tobias was a formidable and shrewd man who despised Haskell. More accurately, he couldn't stand the fact that his most looked-down-upon brother, Thatch, had managed to secure the bulk of the family fortune thanks to his brilliant son. Now, Tobias’s own fortunes depended entirely on Haskell’s mood.
