Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 283

As Finley’s father, Paxton was at a loss. He knew the gravity of the situation; if he couldn’t provide a satisfactory answer, the Judson family would face the combined wrath of these powerful families. Bankruptcy would be the least of their worries.

“You disgrace! Get on your knees!”

Kiernan’s voice, thick with fury, boomed through the hall.

Finley, leaning on his cane, hesitated for a moment before sinking to his knees under the weight of everyone’s stares. He knew this was the only way. He had to accept his punishment and appease the guests to put this matter to rest.

Once Finley was kneeling, Kiernan rose, grabbed his cane, and brought it down hard on Finley’s back.

“How dare you do something like this! I could tolerate your antics at home, but tonight is Larissa and Haskell’s engagement! You still couldn’t behave!”

“It seems my previous punishments were too light. You clearly didn’t learn your lesson, targeting Larissa again and again!”

Kiernan’s rebukes were punctuated by the relentless thud of the cane.

Vivica watched in horror. “Dad, stop it!”

“If I don’t beat him, will he ever learn?” Kiernan didn’t stop, striking Finley’s back again and again.

Vivica tried to rush forward, but Paxton held her back. “If he doesn’t do this, there’s no calming this storm!”

Tears streamed down Vivica’s face as she watched, her heart aching with every blow that landed on her son.

He turned to Larissa.

“Larissa, I had originally planned to give you 30% of the shares in Starlight Media. My thought was that if you proved yourself capable, I would hand the entire company over to you. If not, you and Finley could compete for control. But now, I see that Finley is not worthy of competing with you. Therefore, I have decided to transfer all shares of Starlight Media to you.”

“That’s wonderful!” Sapphira gasped, covering her mouth in excitement. She turned to her husband. “Larissa’s future is secure!”

Neville was also deeply relieved. He had worried that even if Larissa poured her heart into Starlight Media and achieved great success, it would all be for Finley’s benefit in the end. After all, Kiernan was traditional at his core and surely wanted his grandson to inherit the family business.

Now, that final worry was gone.

Larissa smiled calmly. “Thank you, Grandpa.”
