Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 299

Following at a distance, Vivica saw that Larissa and Sapphira were still waiting outside the Lincoln estate and correctly guessed they were being stonewalled.

Hilariously, the little brat had actually hired people to make a racket, thinking she could force Josette out. How pathetic. She really had no idea who she was dealing with.

“And to think I was worried enough to follow them here. What a complete waste of my time,” Vivica thought. She instructed her driver to turn the car around. She would leave the Lincolns to deal with the brat; she had more important things to do.

...

After another round of Larissa shouting through her megaphone and the band blasting their instruments, the Lincoln's butler finally reappeared. He was covering his ears, shouting to be heard over the din. "Ms. Judson, what is the meaning of this!"

Larissa replied through the megaphone, "Isn't it obvious? I'm looking for my aunt Josette. This is what happens when you refuse to open the gate or let her come out."

The butler looked exasperated. He frowned and yelled, "Alright, alright! Tell them to stop! I'll take you to see her!"

"You got it!" Larissa turned, raised a hand, and shouted, "Cut!"

The deafening noise stopped instantly, and a blessed silence fell over the street.

The butler breathed a sigh of relief, lowering his hands from his ears as he opened the gate. "This way, Ms. Judson."

Larissa turned to the band. "Alright, you can go collect your pay."

With that, the musicians packed up and left.

Once Sapphira and Larissa were inside, the butler closed the gate and led them briskly toward the main house.

Three people were seated on the sofas in the living room: an elderly woman with silver hair who could only be Helena, Josette, and her husband, Jagger.

"Larissa, you are such a damn nuisance!" Jagger snapped impatiently. He was still in his pajamas, clearly just woken up. "I was finally getting some sleep, and that god-awful racket you hired woke me up! That was you, wasn't it!"

He was seething. After leaving the Palmers' engagement party last night, he couldn't stand Josette's constant complaining, so he'd gone to a club instead of coming home. He didn't get back until after three in the morning when the club closed. He'd been too tired to even go to his room and had crashed on the living room sofa. Then Josette had come downstairs, already fuming about a call from her niece, and her tirade had made it impossible for him to get any more sleep.

Noticing the butler had no intention of offering them a seat, Larissa refused to be snubbed. She walked over to an empty sofa, sat down, and patted the cushion next to her.

"Come on, Mom, have a seat. Looks like we might be here for a while."
