Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 302

Seeing her husband finally ready to strike Larissa, Josette gloated, “Let’s see how arrogant you can be now, Larissa!”

Larissa shot her a look of pity. “If I were you, Aunt Josette, I wouldn’t be so pleased.”

Josette paused, confused.

“Last night at my engagement party, Jagger knew I made you kneel and apologize,” Larissa explained calmly. “Even today, he stood by and let you do it again without lifting a finger to defend you. But now, because I said a few sharp words to his mother, he’s ready to fight. Don’t you feel pathetic? In his eyes, you, his wife, are worthless. I’m not sure what you have to be so happy about.”

Josette fell silent.

Of course, she knew! She had complained about it, but what could she do? She could only lie to herself.

“Whatever. I have endless money to spend!”

“If you really had endless money at the Lincoln estate, why would you have bothered making that bet with me?” Larissa dismantled her excuse. “It wasn’t just about humiliating me because you disliked me. You wanted a piece of the Judson family assets, didn’t you?”

Josette, exposed, could only glare at her in silence.

A moment later, four burly bodyguards rushed into the hall.

“Grab these two women!” Jagger commanded. “Make them kneel and apologize to my mother!” He could tolerate insults to his wife, but never to his mother.

Sapphira instinctively grabbed Larissa’s hand, her own trembling slightly.

Larissa shook her head, signaling for her new mother not to worry. Before the bodyguards could reach them, she pulled her hand free, and four silver needles materialized from her sleeve, flying through the air in a blur.

“Oh, you’re wrong about that, Jagger,” Larissa said, a knowing smile on her face. “I know exactly how your family got its start.”

She knew she would inevitably cross paths with Regal City’s elite families after returning to the Judsons, so she’d had Nightveil investigate all of them, especially the top-tier ones.

“The Palmer family has a clean history, built on legitimate businesses and the sharp, long-term vision of each successive leader. They managed to ride the wave of several major market shifts, accumulating their power step by step.”

“The Schwartz family has a background in medical research and development, with government backing that gives them a stable foundation.”

“The Dillon family caught the biggest wave of the internet boom, but they’ve started to show signs of decline recently because they failed to capture the lower-tier market, losing share to competitors.”

“And as for your family, the Lincolns…” Larissa paused, her eyes locking with Helena’s in a meaningful stare.
