As Torrin passed the spot where Jagger lay groaning on the floor, a hand shot out and grabbed his pant leg.

“You little bastard… You’re not leaving today! I’ve already called my nephew! You’re dead!” Jagger hissed, clutching his phone in his other hand.

Torrin looked down, kicked his hand away, and said, “Fine. I’ll wait. I’m curious to see just how tough your nephew really is.”

Avril’s heart sank. The real power in the Lincoln family lay with Helena and Lucius. If Lucius showed up, Torrin was in serious trouble. She felt a pang of guilt. She had lured him here, and he had fought for Larissa’s honor. She couldn’t just abandon him.

She grabbed the food bag and stood up. “Torrin, you should really go.”

Torrin shot her a sideways glance. “I’m not leaving. I’m a Dillon heir. I’m not afraid of anyone.”

Jagger struggled to his feet, gingerly touching his bruised face. “Still acting tough after being kicked out to deliver food? Fine. You just wait!”

“Whatever,” Torrin scoffed, finding a seat. “I’m waiting.”

Seeing that the stubborn fool was determined to stay, Avril had no choice but to remain as well. Worried they couldn’t handle the Lincolns alone, she sent a quick text to Haskell.
