Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 421

[I'm over the resentment, yes. Which is why, in my eyes, you're all just strangers now. And strangers get blocked.]

After sending the text, Larissa blocked the new number as well.

"Let's eat."

Sapphira and Neville shared a knowing look, both instinctively understanding not to ask what Vivica had wanted. That family wasn't worth a single wasted breath of concern.

...

Upstairs in a guest room at the Caldwells' home, the air was thick with a tense, suffocating atmosphere.

"Mom, I told you not to bother Larissa," Leopold said, his voice strained. "She still hates us. We have to figure out how to help Finley on our own."

Vivica, having been blocked for the third time, threw her hands up in frustration. Her voice rose in pitch. "Figure it out on our own? How? We're talking about Garrick Palmer! Even if he's not the heir to the Palmer fortune, in our current situation, can we really afford to cross him?"

Leopold's brow furrowed. "Why not? Garrick has a problem with Haskell and Larissa. If we teach him a lesson, we'd be doing Larissa a favor!"

Vivica muttered sourly, "It all comes down to your sister being too cold-hearted..."

"Enough!" Leopold's voice cracked like a whip, cutting off his mother's complaints. "We deserve what's happening to us. This has nothing to do with Larissa! Mom, I don't want to hear you say another bad word about her. We are the ones who wronged her! That’s it. I'm going to Garrick's now. Dad's still recovering, so you stay here and look after him."

With that, Leopold threw open the door and stormed downstairs.

He shook his head, his voice cold. "No, thank you, Uncle. You go ahead. I'll grab a bite to eat on my way out."

His uncle hesitated. "What about your parents...?"

A wave of despair washed over Leopold. He took a deep breath before answering flatly, "They'll order something in."

The humiliation of their situation was a physical weight, crushing him. The last shred of his dignity burned like a wildfire, urging him to flee.

"Uncle, I have some urgent business to take care of," he said hastily. "I'm heading out now."
