Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 540

“With Haskell Palmer, with Jagger Lincoln, with the singer Leopold. So many stories.”

"So when I heard Gustave was casting the male lead for ‘Heaven's Will’, I came here thinking it was worth a shot, that maybe this was my chance. I never thought I'd actually get the part."

"Ms. Judson, if I told you I need you to save my girlfriend, Tawny... would you help me?"

Larissa had been expecting some cliché, dramatic story with a twist—something like Tawny betraying him for someone more powerful and then smearing his name first to protect her own reputation.

But this? He was asking her to save Tawny?

"What's going on?" Larissa asked, leaning back into the sofa, her curiosity thoroughly piqued.

Wynn took a deep breath and told Larissa the whole story.

"The stories you read online are true. The only reason I got my break three years ago, the reason I won that award, was because Tawny was always there, encouraging and supporting me. I would’ve given up on acting long ago without her," Wynn said. "What I didn't realize was that my entire career was built on her sacrifice."

"Some powerful figure in Regal City had his sights set on her. To protect me, she felt she had no choice but to give in. Her only condition was that he get me a role. But that deal must have angered him, because on the very day I won the award for that film, he arranged a car 'accident' that was meant to kill me. I survived, but my assistant, who was driving for me that night, wasn't so lucky. So the bastard switched tactics. He started the rumor that my assistant and I were having an affair and used his influence to completely blacklist me."

"I know…" Wynn's face fell for a moment. "So… you believe me?"

"Let's be clear," Larissa said, her tone serious. "I think your look, your entire presence, is a perfect fit for the lead in ‘Heaven's Will’. Because of that, I'm willing to see if there's any truth to your story. That, and the fact Gustave vouches for your character."

"So, yes. I'll look into it. I'll find out if Tawny is really being controlled by some powerful figure like you say."

Wynn, who had remained surprisingly calm while telling his story, let a flicker of emotion show. His relief was quickly tempered by a new wave of anxiety. "My only worry," he said, his voice low, "is that even if you prove I'm right, this man will be too powerful for even you to cross."
