Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 585

“So, to be clear, you didn’t invite this crowd over?” Larissa asked Rigby, knowing full well the answer.

“Of course not!” Rigby exclaimed. “I heard the doorbell and thought it was you, so I just opened it. Next thing I knew, they were all forcing their way in!”

“I see,” Larissa said, turning her sharp gaze back to Lucius. “Well, Lucius, this little home invasion of yours is called breaking and entering. I suggest you and your goons get out before we decide to call the police.”

“Get out?” The words dripped from Lucius’s lips like venom, his face darkening into a thunderous mask.

Kenric, sensing an opportunity to regain favor, puffed out his chest. “How dare you speak to Mr. Lincoln like that!”

Larissa didn’t even deign to look at him, simply flicking her eyes in his direction.

“Oh, you didn’t hear me correctly?” she taunted, beckoning him with a finger. “Come closer. I can demonstrate again exactly how I speak to Lucius.”

“You’re Larissa, right? I’ve heard of you,” Kenric sneered, though he didn’t dare take a step forward. He glanced at Haskell in his wheelchair. “You think you’re so tough just because you’re engaged to Haskell Palmer. But even he has to show Mr. Lincoln some respect. Who do you think you are, telling him to get out?”

Kenric figured that with Haskell crippled, his position as the Palmer heir was uncertain. Siding with Lucius seemed like the safer bet. His earlier hesitation had already displeased Mr. Lincoln; he had to make up for it now.

Lucius’s expression soured further. “A man who lets a woman tell him what to do is pathetic! But I suppose you have no shame left. You’re already half a cripple. What’s a little groveling if it gives you a chance to walk again?”

Haskell remained completely unfazed.

“Lucius, it sounds to me like all those years of living in my shadow have left you with a bit of a complex. I don’t feel wronged in the slightest. In fact, meeting and getting engaged to Larissa has brought me more happiness than I’ve ever known.”

Lucius was speechless.
