Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 618

She switched windows and typed back a reply.

[Okay, I’ll leave him to you. If you can handle him, I’ll grant you any one request within my power.]

Avril’s response was immediate:

[Really? That’s amazing! Just wait, Larissa, I’ll take care of it!]

Larissa switched back to the video call. Haskell, his hair endearingly messy, looked at her curiously. “Where’d you go? I couldn’t see you.”

“That was Avril,” Larissa said with a sigh. “Apparently, Torrin is planning a ‘big surprise’ for my birthday party. After what happened last time, I’d rather not. I just want a nice, quiet celebration with my parents and you.”

Haskell smiled. “As his rival, I have to admit I’m curious. I wonder if his surprise can top mine.”

“No contest. Yours will be better,” she said instantly.

“Subjectively, I know you’ll prefer mine. But I want mine to be objectively better, too,” he said seriously.

Now she was intrigued. “Oh? So what is it? What did you get me?”

“You’ll have to wait until your birthday,” he said with a laugh. “Otherwise, it wouldn’t be a surprise.”

“You sound just like my mother,” Larissa groaned. “Fine. It looks like this is going to be the most eventful birthday of my life. I’m going to bed.”

“Goodnight, Larissa.”

“Goodnight.”

Haskell could practically see the multiple drafts that had been deleted before that simple reply. He smiled.

[Alright, get some sleep. Filming for “Heaven's Will” will be intense. Work hard and don’t disappoint Larissa.]

The reply was swift: [I always take my work seriously.]

Haskell knew there was more Rigby wanted to say, perhaps about the Palmer family, but he was too hesitant to ask. His brother was certainly a complicated one.

Three days later.

Finley was released from the police station. The first person he saw was his mother, Vivica, waiting for him by the entrance. A wave of irritation washed over him.
