In a discreet private kitchen known only to a select few, Lucius was dining with an influential figure. The moment he hung up the phone, his face darkened into a thunderous scowl.

Not again. He had been played by Larissa once more. That woman, whom he was beginning to truly hate, had cleverly used Trudy as a scapegoat to eliminate Theon, forcing his own hand to pressure Damon. Though Damon had complied, Lucius knew he had sown a seed of resentment. The woman's methods were truly vicious!

Across the table, the influential man slowly set down his steak knife, dabbed his lips with a napkin, and looked at Lucius.

"Lucius," he said softly, "Mystique Blossom is our little game. We can't just let anyone in."

"Of course not," Lucius said quickly. "Everyone I bring is personally vetted. That will never happen."

The man picked up his wine glass and took a sip. "You seem troubled by that woman, Larissa."

He didn't wait for a response. "She's been making quite a name for herself lately. I hear her company is even using Wynn in a new series, a man I had blacklisted."

A flicker of anxiety crossed Lucius's face. "Rest assured, sir. I will not allow her to bother you."

"That would be for the best." The man seemed satisfied. He placed his glass down, rose from his seat, and walked over to Lucius, patting him on the shoulder. "Lucius, if the Lincoln family wants to truly legitimize itself and secure its footing in Regal City, you still need my support."

After the man left, Lucius violently drained his wine glass.

After finishing Haskell's treatment, Larissa went straight back to Starlight Media, deciding not to accompany him to Rigby’s house to treat Sire. Sire’s condition, unlike Haskell’s, did not require daily attention.

Back in her office, she called Nightveil. "Did you get the dashcam footage from Trudy's car?"

"Yes. And we've also acquired videos taken by bystanders at the scene."
