Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 679

Spire Village.

Finley sat in his car, watching as the villagers, carrying their luggage, boarded a large bus parked at the village entrance.

“Mom already went back, didn’t she?” he said, his voice weary.

Half an hour earlier, several buses had arrived unexpectedly. Finley recognized the man in charge—the butler from his uncle Neville’s villa—and understood immediately. They were here to take the villagers to Regal City for Larissa’s birthday. The news had sent a ripple of excitement through the community, and soon people were emerging from their homes, bags packed, ready to go.

Finley had stood by the bus, pleading with each person who passed to let him come along, but every single one had refused.

The butler had been polite but firm. “Finley, I’d advise you to give up the idea of celebrating with the young miss. Your presence would only spoil her mood.”

Defeated, Finley had retreated to his car. He had just turned his phone on when Leopold’s call came through.

“What? Are you sure?” Leopold’s voice was laced with surprise. “Mom hasn’t come back here at all.”

Finley paused, then quickly said, “I didn’t want to go back with her, so we had an argument. She was probably upset and decided to go somewhere to cool off for a bit. She’s a grown woman, Leopold. It’s not like she’s going to get lost.”

He had no energy to worry about his mother. It was just another one of her dramatic attempts to get his attention.

“I see… So when are you coming back? Larissa’s birthday is the day after tomorrow.”

“I’m heading back to Regal City today,” Finley said, his gaze drifting away from the bus.

On the bus, Zendar watched Finley’s car disappear.

“Thinks he can just waltz into Larissa’s party,” he snorted. “In his dreams.”

Beside him, Kimberly said, “Forget about him. It’s good that he’s gone. So, Zendar, what did you get Larissa this year?”

Zendar scratched his head. “Ah, I’ve already taught her everything I know. From now on, she has to walk her own path. So, my gift is simple: a custom-made needle case I stitched myself.”

Kimberly smiled warmly. “I had the same thought. There’s not much more I can teach her. So I made her an all-natural lipstick. The girl never cared much for primping, but now that she’s back in Regal City, a young lady of a great house, she should pay a little mind to her appearance.”
