Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 690

But now, the men he had sent had vanished without a trace.

“What happened?”

“We can’t reach them, sir. We don’t know why. However, my sources confirm that Vivica has already returned to Regal City.”

“She’s back? Who brought her?” Lucius asked, a sense of alarm creeping in.

“We haven’t been able to identify who picked her up,” the assistant admitted.

“Useless!” Lucius snapped. “You not only fail to retrieve her, but you don’t even know who did? It seems it’s time to clean house.”

Despite his harsh words, a deeper anxiety took root. He feared his worst suspicion was true: that Larissa was backed by a power even greater than Haskell, a power that allowed her to anticipate his every move and act first. Perhaps Paxton’s little scheme would serve as a final test to gauge the true extent of her resources.

“Sir,” the assistant asked, “should we proceed with the plan tomorrow?”

“Why not?” Lucius said coldly. “Proceed as planned. Even if it fails, Paxton is the one who will take the fall.”

“Understood.”

With the matter settled, Lucius turned his attention to the man sitting across from him. Damon Tyson was staring into a glass of whiskey, his face a grim mask.

But Theon’s parentage wasn’t the worst blow. The hospital had delivered the final, crushing news yesterday: a severe problem with his fertility meant he could never have another child. Livia was all he had. The company he had spent his life building would have to go to her.

He couldn’t stand it.

“The scandal with Theon has caused Gale Entertainment’s stock to plummet,” Damon said, his voice strained. “There are calls to boycott our projects. Mr. Lincoln, what should I do?”

Lucius swirled the amber liquid in his glass. “As long as Leopold’s new songs crush Larissa’s, this negative press will turn into publicity. Once your new drama, ‘Soaring High’, airs and its ratings destroy ‘Heaven’s Will’, Gale Entertainment’s reputation will recover. As for Larissa and Starlight Media…”

He looked at his own cold reflection in the glass. “They’ll both be finished very soon.”
