Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 708

After the treatment, Larissa gently squeezed his knee. “You’ve been trying to stand and support your weight. How is it feeling? Are you still able to do it?”

“I can,” Haskell nodded, “but it hurts quite a lot.”

“That’s normal,” Larissa said reassuringly. “It hasn’t been long since your injury; recovery takes time. I still expect you’ll be fully mobile by the end of December. For now, keep practicing standing with your crutches every day. When you feel steady, try taking a step or two. Don’t rush it.”

“I know,” he said, his gaze softening as he looked at her. “Larissa, happy birthday.”

Larissa paused, then looked up at him with a small smile. “You already said that.”

“I wanted to say it again, in person. Happy birthday,” he repeated with a warm smile.

A wave of warmth spread through her. “So,” she teased, “what did you get me?”

Instead of answering directly, Haskell said, “Avril told me Torrin was planning to give you his shares in his father’s food delivery empire as a birthday gift.”

“So I heard. On the condition that I break off my engagement with you and get engaged to him instead,” Larissa replied.

Torrin had always been generous, saving up nearly every penny he earned to buy her gifts, though she had returned most of the expensive ones.

“As a man, I have to admire his audacity,” Haskell said.

“Not exactly,” she countered. “You need money to take good care of your face. So, having money is still essential.”

After they had their fun, Haskell’s tone grew serious. “How do you plan to handle Lucius and Paxton’s schemes at the party tonight?”

“It’s simple,” Larissa explained. “I have someone tailing Vivica. They’ll rescue her when she’s in danger and capture the professional killer Lucius hired. When the plot is exposed, Lucius will undoubtedly pin all the blame on Paxton. I’ll use this chance to send Paxton to join Jagger Lincoln in prison.”

“This hitman has a twelve-year track record with no failures,” Haskell reminded her. “Are you confident your people can rescue her and capture him?”

“They’ll have my help, of course,” Larissa said with a confident smirk. “He may be an expert at dealing with people, but the venomous insects and reptiles I can summon are something he won’t see coming.”
