Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 772

[That’s ridiculous. Livia is the daughter of Gale Entertainment’s chairman! She’s a rich heiress in her own right. What resources would she need from Lucius? Their engagement was a business arrangement. Now that the Lincoln family is toxic, you expect her to stick around?]

[Honestly, she’s had it rough. Her father had an illegitimate son, and now her fiancé’s family implodes.]

[Rough? I’d say she’s lucky! Her father’s bastard son got what he deserved, and she saw her fiancé’s true colors before they got married. She escaped a disaster!]

[Good point! Congrats to Livia for dodging that bullet!]

Overall, public opinion was largely in Livia’s favor. The crimes the Lincoln family had been exposed for were too much for the general public to stomach.

“Oh?” Haskell said, intrigued. “I didn’t know you cared about Lucius’s love life.”

A faint smile played on Larissa’s lips. Her eyes sparkled with mischief. “What if I told you I was more concerned about Livia? Would you believe me?”

Haskell chuckled. “Since when have I ever not believed you?”

He paused. His curiosity was piqued. “Though I wasn’t aware you were in contact with Livia.”

Larissa winked. “That’s a secret between us girls.”

Haskell didn’t press. Instead, he mused aloud, “So your attacks on Gale Entertainment were partly for Livia’s sake? Was she trying to use you to get rid of Damon’s illegitimate son, Theon?”

Larissa scoffed. “Serves him right… But are you sure Grandpa Zoltan isn’t bothered by it?”

Haskell grew thoughtful. “If my grandfather was truly bothered by my gift to you, then I might have to reconsider my father’s old theory, that my grandpa secretly approved of the plan to switch my brother at birth.”

Larissa looked surprised. “So you really did give me that gift to test your grandfather?”

“No,” Haskell said earnestly. “My gift to you was completely sincere.”

He continued, “I can’t guarantee I’ll never change, but if a future version of me would ever hurt you, I’d rather eliminate that possibility right now. And if I did change, if I became someone who would even consider harming you to get my fortune back, I trust your abilities to ensure I never get that chance.”
