Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 828

Larissa tilted her head back, tracing his brow with her finger as she looked at his contented expression. "Why else would I have agreed to this engagement? Though I admit, at first, it was mostly because of your looks and your resilience after everything you'd been through."

"But now," she whispered, her voice a soft, alluring hook, "I really do love you."

Haskell's breath hitched. He gave her lips a light, punishing bite. "Knowing it is one thing, but hearing you say it, especially in front of all those people… I can't help but feel overjoyed."

"So," he prompted, "tell me more."

Larissa smiled. "And then, later, when I was treating you, I saw how you endured the pain without making a sound, and I thought…" Her voice dropped to a whisper. "I have to have this man."

Haskell's pupils contracted. The next second, his mouth crashed down on hers, a conquering kiss that seemed to devour her words. Larissa gasped, her fingers tangling in his thick hair.

They only broke apart when both were breathless. Haskell rested his forehead against hers. "Larissa, from the first time you performed acupuncture on me, when your fingers touched the scars on my legs without a hint of revulsion, I knew I wanted to keep you by my side forever."

"Alright, that's enough kissing for now," Larissa said, gently pushing against his chest and sliding out of his lap. "We need to eat, and then it's time for your treatment."

If this continued, they wouldn't be able to take it any further, which would only make things more frustrating.

After lunch, Larissa began the treatment. Haskell, remembering their conversation from the previous night, asked, "Larissa, did you dream of me last night?"

"Actually," she said with a grin, "I did."

Haskell raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "And what did you dream about?"

"Does it hurt?" she asked softly.

He shook his head, his voice slightly hoarse. "No."

Larissa hummed, tapping her fingers on his knee. "Playing the tough guy, are we? I used a stronger technique on this point today. The pain and soreness should be several times more intense than usual. You're sweating buckets."

Haskell chuckled, wiping his forehead. He watched her focused profile, his voice low. "With you being so concerned about me, how could I possibly be afraid of a little pain?"

"Of course I'm concerned. I'm not just your doctor; I'm your fiancée. How could I not care about my future husband?" she retorted, rolling her eyes, though she couldn't hide the smile in them. "After Sage and Snowy give you a massage, try walking again. Let's see if you can move today."
