Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 848

Larissa remembered her mother saying something that morning about her father being called into the office to handle an emergency. Still, something didn’t add up.

“This sounds like an equipment issue,” Larissa said, looking up from the reports. “Why would my father be arrested over it?”

Haskell, standing beside her, knew exactly what she was thinking. After Larissa had exposed Jedidiah for forcing Tawny into a relationship and attempting to murder Wynn, the internet had been in an uproar. The timing of this crisis at Judson Pharmaceuticals was too convenient. She was right to suspect Jedidiah’s hand in it.

The assistant explained, “If it were just a simple malfunction, we would conduct repairs and put the units back into service. But the situation escalated. Today, a patient died as a result of a medical error caused by one of our faulty monitors.”

Larissa’s expression hardened. “Have they found the cause of the malfunction?”

He shook his head, his face grim. “Not yet. Mr. Judson and the entire engineering department worked through the night, but as of this morning, they still couldn’t pinpoint the problem.”

“Is the engineering team still investigating?” she asked.

“After Mr. Judson was taken away by the police, a wave of panic swept through the company,” the assistant said with a heavy sigh. “Everyone’s morale collapsed, and the team temporarily halted their work.”

Larissa nodded, understanding the fragile state of things.

She paused, letting her words sink in. “I’m not going to give you a speech about company loyalty. I’ll just say this: if you find the cause of this malfunction and clear Judson Pharmaceuticals’ name, every single member of the engineering department will receive a double year-end bonus.”

A ripple of surprise went through the room. Eyes widened. The offer was a powerful motivator.

“While my father has been managing this company,” Larissa continued, her voice gaining strength, “I am the one who holds the controlling interest. My grandfather transferred all of his shares to me. That means I have the final say here.”

The department head looked to Neville’s assistant, searching for confirmation.
