Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 868

Avril was shocked and heartbroken by the girl's words. She gritted her teeth and cursed, “Worse than animals!”

If not for this incident, she would never have known that such horrors still existed in the world.

With a serious expression, Avril promised, “Larissa, I’ll take them to my place for now. I’ll get the charity school project up and running as quickly as possible.”

Larissa nodded. “Good.” Then, she looked at the two girls. “If you really want to thank me, then study hard and build a bright future for yourselves.”

Both sisters nodded vigorously. “We will!”

After Avril left with the girls, Larissa turned to Haskell and smiled. “I thought I’d have to camp out here for two whole days and nights. I didn’t expect you to show up so quickly tonight.”

Haskell’s lips curved into a soft smile. “How could I let you wait in the cold for so long?” he said, his voice low and gentle, as if it could reach right into her soul.

After a brief pause, he continued, “Larissa, I think the evidence I found should be enough to get Neville released without charges. However, there’s no concrete proof yet that the Lincoln family was behind all this.”

Larissa replied, “I know. It’s incredible you found this much in such a short time. At least it proves Judson Pharmaceuticals wasn't at fault. I’m just happy my dad can come home safe.”

“Larissa,” Haskell said suddenly, his gaze fixed on her. “It seems I’m still of some use to you.”

Larissa burst out laughing. “Why would you think that? Of course you’re useful to me. The fact that I like you, that just thinking about you and being with you makes me incredibly happy—that in itself is a very valuable thing.”

Larissa raised an eyebrow. “Oh?”

“The little rats at home have been getting restless lately,” Haskell explained. “If I’m not there, it might give them the opportunity they need to show their hand.”

Larissa understood immediately. “Is this about Sire?”

Haskell nodded grimly. “Yes.”

“Alright then,” Larissa agreed readily. “You can stay at my place tonight.”
