"Eliza!"
Zander watched her body collapse, his heart clenching violently.
He instinctively tried to release Yvonne to catch her.
But someone was faster.
"Get out of the way!"
Julian reacted with lightning speed, scooping her into his arms before she could hit the ground.
He held her securely against his chest.
Looking down at the unconscious woman in his embrace, his eyes burned with fierce anger.
She was the girl he held closest to his heart.
And this despicable pair had actually pushed her to this breaking point!
Julian lifted her effortlessly, and as he walked past Zander, he paused.
His tone was icy, laced with absolute threat and warning.
"Zander, you better pray she is alright."
"Otherwise, I will make the two of you pay a thousand times over for the sins you have committed!"
"Security, throw these people out. Tell the guards that if they ever let trash like this in again, they are all fired!"
Without looking back, Julian carried Eliza away in large, purposeful strides.
Zander stood frozen, slowly raising his trembling hands.
What had he just done?
His eyes were filled with agony; he had only come to explain himself to her!
He had desperately wanted to tell her that he still loved her!
Why had things spiraled so wildly out of control?
"Zander!" Yvonne cried out. Seeing him staring blankly at his hands, a flash of jealous hatred crossed her heart, but on the surface, she wept even more miserably, leaning her soft, weak body against him.
"My arm hurts so much. Why did Eliza have to treat me like this..."
"Shut up!"
Zander snapped out of his daze and shoved Yvonne away.
Yvonne stumbled backward as he took two desperate steps in the direction Julian had left.
Several security guards immediately surrounded him, blocking his path with hostile expressions.
Watching Julian and Eliza disappear into the distance, Zander realized he did not even have the right to chase after them anymore.
He finally turned his attention back to Yvonne, his expression darkening into something terrifying.
The door suddenly pushed open, and Gwen rushed in.
"Eliza!"
Gwen looked at her friend on the bed, her eyes red-rimmed.
She hurried to the bedside and pulled Eliza into a tight embrace, her voice trembling.
"That blind bastard Zander and his manipulative two-faced snake, why don't they just drop dead!"
"Those two pieces of trash... the next time I see them, I am going to tear them apart!"
Gwen held her fiercely.
"Eliza, do not hold it all in. Scream at them! Curse them out! They do not deserve a single one of your tears!"
Eliza remained silent, but the tears flowed even heavier.
For the next few days, Eliza battled a persistent high fever, trapped in an endless loop of dreams.
"No... please, no..."
She thrashed on the bed, tormented by night terrors.
In her dreams, she was back in the rubble.
"Zander... save me... save our baby..."
