Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 1005

Stella’s suspicions were understandable.

If she could not trust her own brother or Felix, why would she trust one of Evan’s friends?

Especially now that Evan was supposedly dead.

Felix and Evan had once been close too.

And look how that had ended.

The more Stella thought about it, the more guarded her gaze became.

“You don’t have to look at me like that,” Remi said. “I’m not a threat to you.”

“Is that so?”

Stella let out a cold laugh.

As though sensing what she was thinking, Remi hurried to defend Amos.

“Amos isn’t like Felix or your brother. He doesn’t have any ulterior motive toward you.”

Even to Remi, the explanation sounded rather unconvincing.

Stella stared at her coldly without saying a word.

“Stop looking at me like that. I’m telling the truth,” Remi insisted. “Besides, we’ve spent enough time together to call each other friends, haven’t we? I wouldn’t lie to you.”

“Friends?”

Stella sounded as though she had just heard a joke.

Friends?

She could not even trust her own flesh and blood.

Why would friendship mean anything?

“You don’t believe me?” Remi asked.

Believe her?

The mockery in Stella’s smile deepened.

Trust had become an unimaginable luxury in her world.

There was no room for it anymore.

Being unable to trust anyone was tragic, but she had no other choice.

In an environment like this, she could not afford to trust anyone.

She did not dare.

“Oh, come on,” Remi muttered helplessly.

She truly did not know what else to say.

When Amos gave her the order, she had warned him it would make Stella suspicious.

And once Stella became suspicious, everything would become far more difficult.

But Amos had refused to listen.

There was nothing Remi could do.

Stella fell silent.

No time limit.

So even the duration was uncertain.

That made the situation far more troublesome.

Stella spent the entire night tossing and turning.

By the next morning, she had already begun planning how to leave Sevi Valley.

Then Jennifer called.

“Leon has been looking everywhere for me.”

“I know.”

Stella had already received updates from her people in Meridia.

Leon was not only searching for Jennifer.

He was also demanding that Stella return Monique.

Stella had been so preoccupied with the situation on Mance Island that she had barely had time to deal with Leon and Monique’s mess.

“What’s happening in Harbor City now?” Stella asked.

She truly had not been paying attention to Harbor City lately.

She did not even know whom Leon had ultimately chosen to sacrifice.
