Chapter 103

Evan said, “Of course they had to sign. Anything tied to Summer Bailey has to be dealt with right away.’

“I’ll go see Ms. Summer now,” Patrick replied.

Anything that had originally belonged to Stella, no matter whose name it was under now, Evan wanted transferred back to her.

At first, he had planned to deal with Summer’s side after she finished her postpartum recovery.

But Stella’s attitude made one thing clear. This could not wait any longer.

Evan closed his eyes briefly. “Go ahead. And arrange one more thing.

“What is it?” Patrick asked, confused.

“She just went down to the parking garage,” Evan said. “Have someone stop her.”

This time, Felix was not taking her away from him.

“The hospital already has people in place. I’ll have them head down now,” Patrick replied.

Evan said nothing else and hung up.

The second the call ended, another one came in.

Dora.

“She really won’t let this go, will she?” Dora snapped the moment he answered. “Fiona and I have already signed. Why is she still going after Summer’s mother?”

Clearly, after taking that hit, Ruby had called Dora and stirred things up again.

Dora was furious.

Evan pressed his fingers to his temple as a headache began to build.

“She’s really something now,” Dora continued, her voice rising. “She’s even meddling in Ruby’s overseas business. Is this you helping her, or is it Felix?”

Her voice turned shrill, almost hysterical.

Ruby had always been proud, and it had not been easy maintaining a good relationship with her over the

years.

Now Stella had thrown everything into chaos.

Dora was livid.

Evan ended the call without another word.

Right after that, he dialed Felix.

No answer.

Once. Twice. Both times, the call was automatically declined.

Evan was furious.

What the hell was going on?

Why was Felix helping her like this?

Ruby was on the verge of losing her mind.

She had already been beaten so badly at Inkwood House that she could barely move. Now she had just gotten word that the overseas project she had been about to lock down had fallen through.

Lying in her hospital bed, she seethed. “That little bitch. I really underestimated her.’

“Call Felix,” she snapped. “Call him. I want to know why he’s helping Stella like this.”

That had been a massive deal.

And now it had been ruined because of Stella.

There was no way Ruby could swallow that.

Alex quickly dialed Felix’s number.

But the call disconnected after a single ring.

“Mr. Hernandez isn’t picking up.”

“Then call his assistant. What’s his name again? Jack Harrison. Hurry!”

Alex immediately dialed again.

This time, Jack answered.

“Mr. Harrison,” Alex said coldly, his tone sharp and authoritative, “it’s hardly appropriate for Mr. Hernandez to be helping Miss Rowan like this, is it?”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Jack replied.

Then he hung up.

Listening to the dead line, Alex froze.

He glanced at Ruby.

“He hung up?” she demanded.

Already furious, hearing that abrupt disconnect only pushed her further over the edge.

Alex nodded. “Yes.”

Ruby’s chest heaved with anger. “Felix… has he lost his mind? Even if Stella divorces Evan, she’s still not good enough for him, is she?”
