Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 1054

In the end, Evan could not hold out any longer.

He went to find Stella.

She was on the phone when he entered.

Whatever she heard made a cold smile appear on her lips.

When she saw Evan, that smile deepened.

His heart sank at the sight of it.

“Understood,” Stella said into the phone.

Then she ended the call.

The moment their eyes met, the look in hers sent a chill through Evan.

He sat down across from her.

His lips moved as though he wanted to speak, but no words came out.

Stella spoke first.

“Well, this is interesting.”

Evan’s unease deepened.

Hearing the detached edge in her voice made his chest tighten.

That phone call had almost certainly been about him or the Wright family.

Before he could ask, Stella continued.

“Fiona was released from prison.”

“She was convicted of murder. The evidence against her was undeniable. And now she’s suddenly free. Isn’t that funny?”

Stella looked at Evan with a cold smile.

His heart dropped.

The moment she mentioned Fiona’s release, he knew exactly where this was going.

“Are you still angry with the Wright family?”

“Angry?” Stella stared at him. “Evan, are you seriously asking me that? Your family…”

“I told you there was more to your mother’s death than you know.”

Evan cut her off coldly.

The words came through clenched teeth.

With that single statement, he dismissed everything Stella had done in Harbor City and denied the very foundation of her hatred toward the Wright family.

“They never deserved the punishment you decided they should receive.”

He met her icy gaze and spoke each word clearly.

Stella fell silent.

“To exchange me for Yara, right?”

Evan’s chest tightened at her bluntness.

He could not even bring himself to meet her eyes.

Stella gave a quiet, mocking laugh.

“Say it.”

Even now, she still wanted him to state his decision clearly.

She had no interest in vague excuses.

“You know what I mean.”

“What are we going to Eirden for?” Stella asked. “Say it clearly.”

He had to say it.

Every word had to be unmistakable.

“Otherwise, I’m not going.”

She looked directly at him.

“So please be clear.”

Evan said nothing.
