Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 1077

Announce her death?

Felix had actually considered doing exactly that.

What worried him was that once news of Stella’s death reached Aaron and Evan, Stella herself would hear about it too.

And when that happened, her suspicions about what he had done that day would become absolute certainty.

But he had not expected her to raise the idea herself.

Stella’s mind was sharper than most people realized.

Back in Harbor City, she had appeared to suffer repeated losses whenever the Wright family was involved.

But in truth, she had never been helpless.

Now that she was suggesting they announce her death, she was clearly planning to use this opportunity to free herself from Evan and Aaron completely.

When Felix did not respond, Stella looked at him.

“What?”

“You’ve already figured out how to get rid of them,” Felix said, his voice turning cold. “What about me?”

Once her death was announced, she would finally be free of Evan and the Hogarth family.

Then what would she do next?

She would find a way to escape him too.

Felix knew she would.

Neither of them bothered speaking indirectly anymore.

Every question between them was blunt.

Stella smiled when she heard his.

“You?”

“Yes. Me.” Felix stared at her. “Is there any chance I can earn your trust again?”

No one knew how Felix had endured the time since Stella stopped trusting him.

Every moment had been torment.

The pain had been relentless, leaving him feeling as though it would destroy him.

Stella gave a mocking laugh.

“Do you even hear yourself?”

“Stella…”

“Look at me,” she said. “The wound in my leg and the one near my shoulder blade were both your doing. You were ruthless enough to do this to me, and now you’re asking whether I can trust you again?”

Felix had hurt her this badly, yet he still expected her to consider trusting him.

“That question is ridiculous, Felix.”

He said nothing.

“Don’t you realize how absurd it sounds?”

Whatever his reason had been, this was hardly the time for him to ask for her trust.

Yet he had asked anyway.

Her gaze sharpened.

“You fired the shots yourself?”

She had been trying to determine which of the three factions had shot her.

But it had not merely been one of Felix’s men.

It had been Felix himself.

The hospital room fell silent.

Felix stared at Stella, unable to say a word.

The mockery in her eyes only deepened.

“I know you’re angry,” he finally said. “But in that moment, all I wanted was to make you stay.”

“The way you chose to get what you wanted was terrifying.”

“I’m sorry.”

Stella looked at him coldly.

“I’m lucky you didn’t kill me.”

“If I had died by your hand, I wouldn’t even have had the chance to hear your apology.”

She gave a bitter laugh.

“Compared to a life, don’t you think that apology is a little cheap?”
