Chapter 1087
Evan stared at Jack, barely able to process what he had heard.
His thoughts were tangled in chaos.
Meanwhile, Amos and Gray searched the Blackwater region as quickly as possible.
The entire place had been devastated.
It was obvious that something terrible had happened before they arrived.
Amos returned to Evan’s side and lowered his voice.
“Silas is dead.”
Evan’s lips trembled as he asked, “What about her? Did you find her?”
His entire body had gone cold.
He could barely hear his own voice.
It felt as though his whole world had been wiped blank.
He could not breathe.
The pain was unbearable.
It was not only his chest. Every part of him seemed to ache, while darkness repeatedly swept across his vision.
“We found these,” Amos said.
He held out Stella’s phone and the jewelry she had been wearing.
Evan did not take them.
His gaze dropped to the items in Amos’s hands.
The moment he saw the bracelet, all the strength left his body.
He collapsed onto the ground.
It was hers.
She had been wearing that bracelet when she left Seaborne that day.
No matter how much jewelry Evan had given her over the years, she had never taken it off.
He remembered that her mother had left it to her.
She had always kept it with her.
But now…
Evan’s world collapsed all over again.
“Is that all?” he asked hoarsely.
If those were the only things they had found, he refused to believe she was dead.
No matter how important they were to her, they were still only possessions.
He needed to find her.
Amos’s expression tightened.
“She’s gone,” Amos said quietly.
“I asked where she is!” Evan shouted. “Answer me!”
Amos said nothing.
Evan looked as though he would tear the entire region apart if they refused to take him to her.
“I’m bringing her home,” Evan muttered. “I have to bring her home.”
Seeing Amos hesitate, Evan seemed to understand what they had found.
The pain in his chest became so intense that he could barely breathe.
His entire body shook.
Even his words were beginning to slip beyond his control.
“I have to take her home. I have to take her home…”
He repeated it again and again.
Bringing Stella home had become the only thought keeping him upright.
Amos watched him for a long moment.
Then he finally said, “All right. Let’s go.
Evan would not stop until he saw the truth for himself.
So Amos had no choice but to take him there.
