Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 1098

Something unreadable flickered in Evan’s dark eyes.

No one knew what he was thinking.

But the thought that Felix had given up everything for Stella made it hard for Evan to breathe.

What right did Felix have to love her more than he did?

And had Felix really abandoned everything purely because he loved her?

Stella was already gone.

What meaning did that love even have now?

“Where is Felix?” Evan asked again.

He did not need to think about it anymore.

So what if Felix had given up everything for Stella?

Evan could give up everything for her too.

Even now, after things had reached this point, he still wanted to take back everything Stella had left behind.

She was his wife.

Whether she had wanted to be or not, she had been his wife until the day she died.

Everything she left behind should be with him.

The fact that Evan kept asking where Felix was made his intentions obvious.

He wanted to take everything back.

Amos stared at him.

“Seriously, you…”

For once, Amos genuinely did not know what to say to him.

Evan looked at him coldly.

“I don’t know,” Amos said.

He truly could not understand what Evan hoped to accomplish by refusing to let this go.

When Stella had been alive and right beside him, Evan had never seemed capable of cherishing her wholeheartedly.

Now she was gone, and suddenly he refused to let go.

“Amos.”

Evan’s voice hardened, clearly dissatisfied with that answer.

“I really don’t know,” Amos said. “After Felix gave up everything, he took everything Miss Rowan left behind and disappeared.”

“He really did give up everything for her.”

Miss Rowan.

Again and again, those two words grated on Evan’s nerves.

His expression toward Amos grew darker with each repetition.

As far as he was concerned, Stella was still his wife.

So no matter what anyone said, she belonged back with him.

“But she wouldn’t want that either,” Amos said firmly.

This time, he meant Stella.

At least one person in the room still seemed capable of remembering what Stella herself had wanted.

“She never wanted to be with you,” Amos continued. “Just let her go.”

She had never managed to free herself from Evan while she was alive.

Was he really going to refuse to let her go even after death?

Evan’s expression darkened further.

Amos saw it and sighed in frustration.

“No, seriously. Look at you.”

It was obvious Evan had not listened to a word he said.

He was still determined to find Stella and bring her back.

And suddenly, Amos understood a little better why Stella had spent so long trying to escape Evan.

The man was impossibly obsessive.
