Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 1169

When Lucas came to see Leon, he found him getting ready to leave with Jennifer.

Lucas’s mouth twitched.

Leon sent Jennifer upstairs, and once the two men were alone, Lucas stared at him.

“Dude, what the hell are you doing?”

Because it sure looked like Leon was packing up and leaving.

Leon glanced at him.

“What does it look like?”

Lucas blinked.

“You’re running away with her?”

That was basically what this was, right?

Sure, if Leon wanted to take Jennifer and leave now, no one could really stop him.

But still...

This was extreme.

Leon’s expression turned cold.

“My family still refuses to see Monique for what she really is. As long as I stay here, they’re going to keep pushing that wedding.”

Monique was terrifying.

After everything that had happened last time, even the Redson family had turned against her.

And yet somehow, she had managed to get them to accept her again and agree to let her marry into the family.

A woman like that...

How had Leon never realized before just how calculating she was?

Or how dangerous?

Lucas stared at him.

“But you can’t seriously think running away is the answer.”

Running away together?

They were grown adults.

Wasn’t this a little ridiculous?

Leon immediately saw what Lucas was thinking and smiled faintly.

“You’re only saying that because you’ve never been in my position.”

Lucas went quiet.

Leon continued,

“If you ever end up where I am now, trust me. You’ll come up with even crazier ideas.”

Wasn’t that exactly what had happened to him?

This wasn’t some brilliant plan.

It was simply the only option he had left.

There was no point wasting any more time fighting with his family over Monique.

And Jennifer was already desperate to get away from all of this.

Leon didn’t want to keep dragging things out either.

If the Redson family wanted to use his sense of responsibility to force him into marrying Monique, then this time, Leon would show them something.

He wasn’t going to take responsibility for every mess they decided to dump on him.

Lucas’s heart skipped a beat.

“Don’t jinx me like that.”

“I have no interest in ending up like you or Evan.”

Leon looked at him.
