A faint smile curved Remi’s lips.
“Best-case scenario? They keep tearing each other apart until they’re both dead.”
Stella’s expression changed.
“Only then will you finally have peace.”
Stella stared at her.
Both of them dead?
At those words, Stella’s gaze turned much more serious.
Remi raised a brow.
“Don’t tell me that after everything they’ve done to you, you still can’t bear the thought of them dying.”
Stella said nothing.
Couldn’t bear it?
Not really.
“If I were you, I’d make sure every last one of them was dead,” Remi said. “Why would I be the one faking my death just to escape?”
Stella remained silent.
Then again, Remi was one of Amos’s people.
After spending so many years in a place like Seaborne, she was hardly innocent herself.
Still...
Stella had never actually considered letting all of them die.
But there was one thing Remi had right.
They deserved it.
Evan.
Felix.
In truth, both of them deserved to die.
But right now...
“I don’t really understand why you’re telling me this.”
If Evan ever disrupted her peace again, Stella thought she really might kill him herself.
Remi looked at her.
“What do I mean? Are you seriously planning to wait around until someone chooses to abandon you again?”
Stella went still.
Again?
Who?
Evan?
Or Felix?
“You probably don’t even know this,” Remi continued. “Even after you ‘died,’ Evan still chose the Wright family over you all over again.”
Stella’s expression changed.
